I wanted osme ideas on how to set Literacy tasks for my class. To be honest I found better ideas on TES. It was good for Year 3 but any higher ability would find the tasks dull.

Another fantastic resource to support the cross-curricular side of a theme. This was extremely useful, especially as we were creating our own kingdoms which there were lots of resources to support this. Amazing, thank you :)

I haven't yet used this but anticipate adding several ideas to my teaching plans. I have the equivalent for A Christmas Carol which has helped a lot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Saves this homeschooler lots of time. 28 July 2016

As a homeschooler I want my children of different ages to do a lot of independent age appropriate reading. But since there are so many of them, all at different reading levels it is difficult for me to assign vocabulary words and comprehension questions for each book with out spending a ton of time reading each book myself. These literature units save me a ton of time. Although they are ment to b used in a classroom setting with multiple students I find that a lot of the projects still work on an individual level. This particular unit comes with vocabulary words for each unit of chapters. Comprehension worksheets for each unit. It also has a lot of writing opportunities for the student reading the book (a big plus for this mama since I like to have them do a lot of writing). It also has plenty of projects to help cement in the "meat and potatoes" of the book that help my reader think about what the story is really about and how it relates to them on a personal level.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun for younger kids 30 Mar. 2015
By Marie Adams - Published on Amazon.com

This book was shorter than I was hoping for, but wound up working out well. It was the main text that I used for a homeschool literature class for elementary-aged kids. There are a wide variety of extra projects at the end that are distantly related to the text ( i.e., research true facts about beavers vs. things that the beavers in Narnia did). The kids enjoyed the projects, worksheets, and even the quizzes!

I loved this guide and I have used other guides as well. I homeschool my son and this guide rally helps. This guide divides the book into 5 sections and each section has a quiz and activities. We are in the process of finishing up The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and we will watch the movie when we are done.
