Wonderful book which gets you hooked from the word go & never stops! Takes you on a rollercoaster ride with the "Healer", Silas, struggling against demon Rick & his minions' constant torture & torment. A battle between good & evil with guardian angels & demons galore. A great story with interesting characters like Uncle Barney, Hannah, Hope, the Cinema man & Tommy. Brilliant book, as usual, from this author. Also bought Predatory Animals & look forward to reading that soon. Can thoroughly recommend this book & all the others from this unique author.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
It has now been confirmed! Gabriel Beyers is now one of my all-time favourite authors.
This book would not leave me alone; it followed me everywhere I went. Once I was in the story it held me captive and would not let me go, no matter how much I begged. This was a book that I seriously struggled to put down. Any down time I had at work and I was reading it.
I'm generally an easy to spook type of person. My Brother takes me to watch spooky films so I can entertain him for a couple of hours. He says he doesn't laugh as hard as when he's watching me, watch a spooky film! So anyway, from when I picked the book up I found that I really, Really, REALLY wanted to not read it, because it was seriously spooking me out. The bathroom and shower curtain scene had me cringing and reading through my fingers. However, as much as I didn't want to stop reading it because it was spooking, I wanted to carry on reading it so that I'd get past the spooky bits to find that it got even MORE spooky! What is that all about Gabe?!
As you can probably tell, the book is well written, it really did feel like I was watching the book play out. A bit too descriptive in parts for my liking, but that's my personal preference. Not so much on the one-liners I've come to know and love from the author but the book was too deep and dark for that. This book drags you on an emotional rollercoaster that in fairness you may feel like you wanna get off but you really don't! The characters are well defined and those that are not a major part of the book are not overdone. The book is told from different POV's which really helps you to get more of an understanding of the plot. There were a few unexpected twist and turns that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
All I can say is I LOVE it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow. 10 Mar. 2017

This book has been on my to be read list for a while, and I am thrilled I found time to read it. Silas Is a fantastic character and so is Tommy. This book is the definition of thriller because you have no idea where it's headed, and although there is no happy ending, the ending is satisfying. The battle of good and evil or heaven and hell is well written and the story was more than enjoyable. I hope to read more in the warriors angel series.
4.0 out of 5 stars A Good Read 29 Oct. 2011

Silas has a gift and it does come with a horrible price tag - not being able to help the ones closest to him. The hardships that this man goes through keeps a reader flipping the pages to find out what his purpose in life is and when will he find out?

This is a well-written story. The characters are well-developed and draw you along with the story. I appreciated the idea of the author focusing on the acts of men rather than using angels and demons exclusively to move the story line. Man's decisions about their actions had more impact then the participation of the heavenly beings.

I would recommend this book as a good read. I received a free copy for review and have no knowledge of the author.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read! 27 July 2011

Guarding the Healer is much more than simply a horror novel. It's an immensely, exciting page turner! It is an intense look into the struggle between good and evil. The novel also has characters like, Silas, Tommy and Hope that are not only realistic but engaging! The characters & story become so real to you, that you are sad when the book ends! It truly is a MUST read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Well Written 11 Jan. 2012

I tend to be a bit of a book hound. When someone offers me a free book I usually take it whether I read it or not. But I picked this one up and started to read. Then I couldn't put it down. While not a long book, it never lets go. Just when you feel the momentum start to slide Demon Rick shows up again.

Once again a fellow indie writer, inspires me to keep plugging on!

Thanks Gabriel!
