Format: Paperback
This story is set in Ocean City, Maryland and part of Ms. Fasano’s An Ocean City Broardwalk Series, though indirectly connected by location only. When we first meet Dina Griffin the reader is given the impression she is homeless. This is not the case. However she is in hiding. I love the way Ms. Fasano lays out her stories to draw the reader in. The story arc is realistic with an air of mystery. The dialogue between the characters is rational and engaging. Dina tries to be as honest as she can without revealing too much about herself for her own protection. She has good reason to be leery of Officer Gav Thomas and, handsome as he may be, he is still an officer of the law.

The plot unwinds at a nice pace as Gav helps Dina get a job at The Sunshine Café and engages Dina in a project he has at work gathering donations for the annual holiday toy drive. Even as Dina grows more comfortable with Gav, she’s reluctant to share her secret. With Gav’s patience and persistence he’s able to slowly get past some of Dina’s walls. Unfortunately, Gav happens to be out of town when the plot takes a nasty turn on Christmas Eve and Dina considers running again.

I think everyone will find this Christmas addition to An Ocean City Boardwalk Series heartfelt with some humorous delights.
Format/Typo Issues: No significant issues.
FYI: I read and reviewed Grown Up Christmas List as part of the Love, Christmas - Holiday stories that will put a song in your heart! boxed set. **Originally written for "BigAl’s Books and Pals" book blog. May have received a free review copy.**

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Ocean City Boardwalk Adventure 22 Feb. 2017
By M31749 - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
Dina Griffin is obviously hiding from something. She is terrified that she will be found, so, while she accepts a job at a cafe in Ocean City, she will only accept tips in payment. She avoids giving her new employer her new name and social security number. She is befriended by Gave Thomas, a local police officer who is sure she is running from something. While Dina tries to trust Gav, her deep mistrust of police prevents her from sharing her problem. As with all of Donna Fasano's characters, you get to know all the people in this book. While it is book 5 of the Ocean City Boardwalk Series, it also stands alone. I never hesitate to download any book by this author. I know I will spend some enjoyable time getting to know new "friends".

5.0 out of 5 stars a sweet story of learning to trust and believe again 11 Nov. 2016
By DMP - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Dina is on the run. Hiding. Then, she meets Police Officer Gav Thomas. Can she trust him not to betray her?

This is a sweet story of learning to trust and believe again written within the classic theme of someone needing help and another willing to be the rescuer and defender against the villain. I liked the gradual buildup of the mystery surrounding what happened to Dina. I also liked how Dina tried to be careful with Gav and not lead him on. I appreciated her respect of his emotions.

Note - There's a mild element of the paranormal / new age.

Length - 12 chapters
Romance - PG
Language - PG

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific, sweet holiday love story---with a twist 12 Nov. 2016
By SuziQ - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I loved this sweet holiday love story! The plot has an air of mystery, a paranormal twist, handsome police officer, and a troubled woman who is on the run. I do not want to give away too much-- it is a great story that unfolds beautifully as each question is answered. Pop on some holiday music and brighten your day!
5.0 out of 5 stars An amazing story! 18 Nov. 2016
By Kimberly Dawn - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I originally read this story in the Love, Christmas anthology. This was another winner by this author. Dina is in hiding. When she meets Gav, she wants to trust him, but he's an officer, and she's afraid. They work on a project together and as she spends more time with him, she starts to trust him. Just not enough to tell him everything. When her worst fears come to fruition, she needs him more than ever. Can they work through the danger and find something real? An amazing story. and I highly recommend it!
