It may have been made outdated by more recent Grooved Ware finds from Orkney and Cornwall, but it remains the most complete set of drawings of GW pottery. In view of the exorbitant prices being asked for copies of this out of print book, perhaps the publishers should address this, perhaps with an E-book edition or a one-at-a-time printing method such as has been possible for such titles as 'Collared Urns' by I H Longworth.
If you can't afford the book then, GW follows an estuarine, riverine distribution even to the source, is despite some variations which have not been fully defined;' a nationwide distribution and a possibly rapid spread, possibly from the Orkneys. The decoration is apparently based upon a lattice grid.
There are clues to a conclusion that is not to be found in this volume.
