Whichever the version, the map is the same larger scale (4cm to 1km) compared to the Landranger maps (2cm to 1km) and as such are great for outdoor activities like walking, cycling and general exploring.
This Greenwich & Gravesend map covers from Stratford & Barking to the north, Bromley & the Kent Downs to the south, and from west to east runs from Isle of Dogs to Tilbury. The Thames cuts the map in half horizontally so you have a good overview of each side of the river.
The map is single sided and measures 127cm x 95cm fully opened and paper quality, although good, is not waterproof so it's worth considering the plastic coated weatherproofed 'active' version Greenwich and Gravesend (OS Explorer Map Active) Greenwich and Gravesend (OS Explorer Map Active)if it's to be used in rainy conditions.
This one is a fold out map that covers the areas north and south of the Thames, from Greenwich to Gravesend. It also goes as far north as Stratford and as far south as Orpington.
It's a fold out map, but the pages fold in such a manner as to usually allow you to have just one visible at the right time, and they do this in a manner that means the rest of it won't get unwieldy.
The map shows walking routes such as the Thames Path and the London Loop in good clear detail. Along with features such as train lines and main roads and train stations. So as mentioned, it's ideal if you're exploring. Rather than if you want a street map of the area.
As mentioned by another reviewer, this isn't the most recent edition of this map. But ordnance survey do put out very fine products ideal for your walking needs, and this will more than suffice if that's what you need it for.
