From the Back Cover
This edition has been extensively rewritten in order to reflect the changes in clinical practice and learning methods which have taken place since the 5th edition was published. The seventeen chapters are divided into three sections: normal voice, descriptions of the various types of voice disorders, and the methods of treating abnormal voice.
A profile summary of each voice disorder is provided for easy reference and comparison, and tables are used throughout the text. New laryngeal images and electroglottographic interpretations have also been included.
The current emphasis on evidence–based practice is addressed in the review and descriptions of intervention strategies used in voice therapy.

This is a meaty book but well worth the purchase. If you only buy one voice book - get this. I bought it far too late into my course. When I got it I thought how did I ever cope without it. There is so much invaluable info in there and it's pretty easy to dip in and out of.

I got this book while studying the last year of a Speech and Language Therapy degree to help support me whilst out on placement and for academic work. I have found it to be an easy read with plenty of theoretical background. I have used it extensively and would be lost without it. I would certainly recommend this book to aid your studies and professional practice

An easy-to-read introductory text for voice disorder. Not too wordy, and not too jargony. Most concepts are explained with layperson's terms. It's definitely a good book for students who just begin their journey to voice. Also a recommended book for you to keep on on your shelf :)
