If you are looking for light-hearted commentary, inspirational anecdotes, or the author’s opinion on the recipes suggested, this is NOT the book for you.
The book opens with a pitch. It then goes into some basic information on what ingredients to pick to make your smoothies. Following that you have 20 recipes for smoothies. They have interesting names and sound like they are going to be amazing. But that’s it. There are no pictures of the drinks and nothing to entice consumers of more traditional, fruit smoothies into trying any of the interesting mixes. They are also very light on instruction. Each recipe has the same two steps, put in blender and blend until smooth. Without any commentary or instructions, each recipe fit onto the screen of a small smartphone, so it makes the information easy to use, but the book lacks the entertainment quality you find in a lot of other similar books.
This is a great book for those that are familiar with green smoothies and are looking for more options for their blinder. I’m not so sure that I would suggest this to someone new to the whole green smoothie world. Yes, the basic instructions in the front of the book do suggest that you cut back on the greens until you are used to the taste, but most of the people I know are going to just jump into the book and follow the recipes as they are written. That may be a bit of a shock for some.
Overall… a great collections of recipes but nothing to draw readers who may want more than just smoothies.
what kind of fruit and vegetable bases to use for a great smoothie. And then there are some
truly awesome recipes which not only look good but are as healthy-licious. I tried the Green
Citrus Refresher, Green rejuvenation, Banana Hemp and fruist in mint slush and I was in for a treat.
I am happy that i bought this book!
