By Squirr-El HALL OF FAMETOP 10 REVIEWER on 21 May 2015
Format: Paperback
The story running through issues #23 & #24 of DC Comics' New 52 Green Lantern: New Guardians series is collected, along with Green Lantern Corps #24, Red Lanterns #24, and Green Lantern #23.1, #24 and Green Lantern Annual #2, as Green Lantern: Lights Out TP (The New 52).

Kyle Rayner has been asked by Hal Jordan, new leader of the Green Lantern Corps following the destruction of the Guardians of the Universe in Green Lantern: Wrath of the First Lantern TP (The New 52), to shepherd the `New' Guardians - the other group of Guardians who were been imprisoned by the late Guardians a few billion years ago. He and Carol Ferris join the "Blue Man Group" at the edge of the Universe, where an object called the Anomaly is situated. Poking it with a sharp stick, the New Guardians manage to wake the Entity housed inside it, who turns out to be a survivor from the Universe before ours, who failed to stop its destruction caused by `lightsmiths' using up all its light energy. His mission is to collect all the light energy free in this universe - i.e. the energy powering the various Lantern Corps - and return it to the Source, to replenish it and extend the life of our universe. Unfortunately, he is right, which makes the various Corps attempts to stop him a bit self-serving, though Relic is not the most diplomatic of characters it has to be said, and a couple of the Corps' home planets are destroyed before a resolution of sorts is reached.
