Probably very biased here as they are my fave punk band ever but here goes. From the rock steady drumming of Smelly through El Hefe's impersonations, Mike's wit and the famous "Mel yell", these boys have been coined the punk rock Rolling Stones. A good comparison as both of these bands over time evolved quite considerably from where they started. Early efforts like Green Corn bear no resemblance to latter ones like Idiots are Taking Over. This is probably the best starting point for NOFX. If you can listen to this from start to finish and enjoy it then all I can advise is they have quite a large back catalogue. Go forth, seek and enjoy, I did!!!!!!

i have been following nofx for the last few years, and got most of their albums. i have always liked like greatly, despite them being 'underground' kinda. they are a great underrated punk rock band, lyrically vulgar, funny and political, or just random. this album is great, and has all the best songs they ever made, but where's my vagina? anyway, great tracks, showing the musical ability of NOFX i hope this isn't the end, the new track shows they ares till capable of producing great records. long live nofx.

when bands release a greatest hits albums im always a bit dubious, for a start its seen as a bit sell out, something people do when they reach the end of the road but im hoping nofx have a lot more in them. its not a load of records that other people think are good, but it is devoted to a band that have changed the face of punk in the last 20ish years. as the title says it is full of 'The Greatest Songs Ever....' the 'written by us' adds a bit of humour and shows that nofx are for jokes and all. im not sure who chose the songs but they are a good mix of nofx past and present. now buying this album will not fill you with nofx knowledge in one listen, you wont get the same affect as listening to five or six different albums and flicking through the sleeves, but it is, if you like nofx in a nutshell. i suppose it would be good as a first album just to see if you like the sound. it may also be good for a so-called hard core nofx fan since its got a load of pictures and information about the band that i never knew, the new song 'wore out the soles of my party boots' is also amazing.
