My Strong recommendation, whatever your thyroid problem, is to send for a copy of Dr Durrant-Peatfield's book. -- Take Control of Your Health and Escape the Sickness Industry, Elaine Hollingsworth
This book is an absolute must read for any practitioner, be it an allopathic or a naturopathic practitioner. -- Positive Health Magazine, August, 2003
From the Publisher
The second edition of Dr Durrant-Peatfield's book on thyroid illness is now available. He is sharply critical of current standards of diagnosis and treatment. Drawing on 40 years of his own medical experience and a century of research, he takes you through, in an enjoyable readable way, how the thyroid works, how it goes wrong, and how treatment should be managed; with a special reference to the crucial importance of the adrenals.
He goes on to relate the thyroid to other health problems, including the menopause, depression, diabetes, cholesterol, heart attacks and cancer and makes particular reference to the impact of environmental hazards including heavy metals and fluoride. An important chapter describes how to make a diagnosis yourself and even how you can monitor your own treatment. A further section is concerned with problems of weight and he describes a dieting regime based on carbohydrate reduction used in his clinic with outstanding success.See all Product description

Words alone are inadequate to express the gratitude I feel towards the author of this book. The book isn't just another educational and informative book on the topic....it is a 20 carat top quality diamond of knowledge and experience ....and best of all......it offers you, the reader a real chance to help yourself get better! I promise you won't be disappointed. This book is your instant access to a top authority on hypothyroidism and your chance of getting better at last! How good is that!!
I was chronically ill for 2 years - the synthetic drug that the NHS prescribed me in varying doses made me worse, not better and on top of all that, I began suffering badly with severe bloating. I mean, really really severe to the point I couldn't move......for months. Through following his advice and expertise in the book, I was able to get the bloating got sorted out in a matter of weeks - what a break through. (NHS told me there was nothing they could do for me). I then began to follow all his further advice. He has literally given me my life back and for that I am so very humbly grateful.
So if you, or anyone you know, have been unfortunate enough to have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism yet still feel very unwell or perhaps you have been undiagnosed yet have many of the symptoms and signs associated with hypothyroidism.. then buying this book and reading it carefully and thoroughly could dramatically transform your health and your quality of life back to normal. The man is amazing.
