In summary, I think this book is good, but the reader must filter the questions, depending on the type/level of job they are applying for. Failure to do this could increase the job hunter's stress levels ...
I bought this latest version of the same book as my wife was applying for a community nursing post within the NHS..she too liked this latest version, and was also successful in securing the post! It's a thumbs up from us both!!
In the first interview i had, i recall thinking about what the book had said about one thing in particular.. in my case it was - If it doesn't need saying don't say it.. which was against the grain of what i would normally do.. I recall stopping myself.. it was weird.. I remember stopping my sentence, and looking at the interviewer, and smiling, and he went on... I went away thinking I haven't got that.. BUT I DID.. so thanks to the book i must have done something right..
It teaches old dogs like me, the new tricks you knew but had forgotten.. You have to get this book if you are looking for work.. I was 45 when i got this book.. i knew it all.. but i didnt.. its a great help..
Don't replace your own thinking with this book, but you can certainly use it as a guide.
Don't buy it the day before the interview - you'll sound like you can't think for yourself (which would probably be true).
Are you still reading? What do you expect, me to write your CV out, too?
