About the Author

Morgan lives in the south of Texas, typically dividing her time between Houston and Austin, with her husband. When she’s not writing, she can usually be found with her nose stuck in a book, cooking, baking, crocheting, and causing a general ruckus with her friends and family! Filled with an overactive imagination at a young age, she began writing her thoughts down in a journal, and the rest, as they say, is history.

I have been very remiss with regards to writing a review for this book. I’ve attempted it on numerous occasions and ended up deleting it to start all over again. I just felt as if my words couldn’t accurately convey how much this book means to me.

Do you ever read a book and just know you’ll never be the same again? The words and characters contained within the pages just become a part of you. Now, I know there will be others who have read this book and will be like “What the bleep is she gibbering on about?”.

I freely admit this story and subject matter won’t be for everyone or makes for easy reading. Was I a mess at times? Hell, yes! Did I find certain parts difficult to read – yes. Did I want to kill a certain character on more times than I could count? Um, you’ve guessed it – yes.

Nevertheless, this is Grayson and Finn’s story. In all its raw honesty. Every up, down, heartrending, shattering and life affirming moments.

“My soul was damaged, irreparable, irreversible, and irrevocably damaged.”

As the tag line says – the hardest decision we can make is to live. In order for Grayson to embrace a future he never in a million years envisaged, he needs to find a way to make peace with his past. Conversely, Finn has to face the consequences of the decisions he made in his youth and the impact they had.

“But don’t let your past define your present or dictate your future.”

Trust me, this book is not all doom and gloom. It just gives you pause and makes you think about what’s really important in life. All of this, from a debut author.

Well, I for one can’t wait to read more in this series. To fill in the missing pieces of Finn’s life and to find out what happened to Logan.

I downloaded this a couple of months ago then forgot about it until I received an ARC to book 2, Finn. I have now read both, although I mistakenly read Finn's story first! It didn't spoil my enjoyment though - both books tell the same story and both characters are beautiful. This is such a sad emotional tale and the odd editing error really didn't spoil it for me.

Grayson by Morgan Campbell

☆☆☆5 stars☆☆☆

My mind is completely blown and my heart is a shattered mess on the floor and I couldn't be happier. What an explosive debut novel by Morgan Campbell!

Grayson always knew he was different and accepted that fact and ran with it. Until the day the bullying and abuse started at school, leaving him a shell of the boy he once was.

Finn and his so -called friends have no clue the devastation they've created by abusing Grayson day after day, and the years of hiding ones true self that occurs afterwards.

Years later, face to face once again, they find out their reality is all too familiar. Secrets and truths are revealed, and the present collides head on with the past.

This story grabbed my heart and did a number on it for sure. Bullying is a sad fact in today's society, and the way we handle it shows our true character. By the end, I can honestly say I didn't  want to throat punch Finn anymore, but instead, hug him and thank him for seeing the error in his ways, and fully redeeming himself. Much love for this beautiful story of redemption and true love!

This book is so emotional and will take you on a journey that will have you laughing, crying and in a complete muddle. This book from the first word to the last will keep you hooked. Grayson was bullied and pushed to the limit by a guy he crushed on and his friends. Ten years later they meet again and their feelings can't be ignored. Grayson realises that forgiveness will be his release from his troubled past. Life hasn't been so good to Finn and when he meets Grayson again he reaches a whole new level of guilt. They have a lot to sort out but it's great for the reader because you get to make the journey with them. Such a great read and well worth it. I can't wait for the next book in the series. I can't recommend this book strongly enough.

The beginning of the book was good although hard to read how people can bully other people. But there where so many things I thought where strange for instance why was Grayson cutting before while we see he has a loving family, is out and proud, has good friends and is overall a happy guy??? And then after one month and half of bullying witch I believe seems much longer if you are the one being bullies he attempts to kill himself. Why not change schools what they do after the attempt. Or call the police. It's not that he is alone in the world. Again he has a very supporting family and friends. Then after ten years he sees Finn again and they hate each other but in no time they love each other. Went from zero to sixty in two seconds. Completely unbelievable. Also the author writes about Wolf his uncle who is only seven years older then Grayson...and the next chapters she says Wolf and his sister Summer, Grayson mom, are very close because she is only eleven months older...so that makes her eight when she had Grayson?

The first 35% of this book ripped my heart out stomped on it then cut into little piece. My hubby told me to put it down as I kept crying. It jumps to 10 yrs later and we hear of what has become of the two MC' s and how they are thrown back together. I won't go into details as I hate spoilers in reviews. While I can't say that I could put that much pain behind me, I like how it turned out. It's not all hearts and flowers and as I said at the beginning it was not an easy read to start but the depth of the characters was well thought out.
I voluntarily reviewed an Arc
