Absolutely appalling quality as others have already stated. Parts missing, parts broken, parts that don't fit together. States it's compatible with lego, I don't think it's even compatible with itself! My little boy was heartbroken day after day. We had 2 broken trees, a man with half a body, random piles of bricks, no instructions....I could go on but the main point is DON'T waste your money!

Purchased this for my 5 year old grandson after having spent £20 on a lego one last year. Had a bit of a scrooge moment and decided this would be just as good!!
First you have to cut the front of the box off and lay it flat to make the scene. I stuck it to the calendar box with blu tack just so it all stayed in place. Now the hard part, The windows are well numbered but a nightmare to open. My grandson cant do it himself and ive had to resort to using a knife up and down the serated edge. Some of the windows have only got part of a toy in them and you have to wait until the next day to complete. There are no pictures on the inside of the window to actually show you what it is you are supposed to be building. The figures dont stand up very well and one keeps losing his legs but a 5 year old who gets very excited about opening the next window doesnt seem to mind one bit! He still has a horse and carriage to build as there are still 7 more windows to open.
I would say for younger kids this calendar is ideal and they wont notice its not Real Lego although it does work with lego. Older kids will prefer the Lego calendar especially if they are fans.
Overall a good calendar with a great price but the manufacturer needs to give it a couple of tweeks....Ease of opening a definate one to work on.
Would I buy again?........Not sure! I may have to let the moths out of my purse next year and go for Lego!

I bought this item for my youngest son as I usually buy a leading brand, and wanted him to have something different this year. It is compatible with leading brands. On day 1, he got a lamp-post, which he was less than thrilled with. The next day was very surprising, as he got a mini-figure which he was pleased with, but it was a female who had a beard!! We are now on day 7 and he still hasn't had anything where he's had to assemble items. Overall, it's a good budget advent calendar, but slightly boring as there's nothing to build. I will probably revert to the leading brand next year.

This was purchased as a gag gift for my father. It didn't disappoint it is hilariously bad. The blocks them selves are fine and do indeed for with "main brand" version the figures they make are what made us laugh. (just zoom in the image you will understand) A helpful note the building instructions are not printed on each days flap, there is a leaflet inside the box.

I bought this for my 2 boys, aged 3 and 5, the were so excited and couldn't wait to open it each day! It's now the 8th of December and so far we have had tears basically everyday. We have had pieces missing, a person with only one leg, a persons face so smudged with black ink you can barely make out the features, and then today my boys had had enough, yesterday they opened up the door to find the top part of a snow mobile, couldn't build it as the basic bits that hold it together weren't part of that day, we thought today we could build it as we guessed that the missing pieces would all be part of today but no, only half the pieces are part of today, the rest it seems are part of tomorrow, 3 days to build one very tiny snow mobile and 2 boys very upset. Not worth the money to have my boys upset every morning.

Having now opened all the days I can now add that my boys got more upset with this as the days went on. If they touched any of the pieces they fall apart so they can only look at it and not play with any of it, USELESS! Also, the grand finale of the coach and horse, well it was tiny and with only getting a few pieces per day it was 5 days before they had all the pieces and could build it, very disappointing.

Would give no stars if I could

After buying a lego friends, an imaginext and this advent calendar for my kids, I had to write this review to say what utter garbage this product is, the street light, if you could call it that, on day one, the person, who's hand wont stay on, on day 2 and the broken tree on day 3, I wasn't expecting the same quality as lego and imaginext but these are defective or broken items in an advent calendar. Steer clear!!

Bit displeased as you had to wait till you had opened all 24 doors/Windows to get all the bricks to actually build anything .which upset both of my children one because it was annoying and two because they are autistic and love building things .
