About the Author

A. J. lives in Cincinnati with her husband, two feministic daughters, an ADD dog, a spoiled hamster, and an unapologetic and unrepentant addiction to Coca-Cola. She studied English, Journalism, and Political Science at Morehead State University and left the business world when her daughters were born. Her love for suspense and a good story was born from watching Mystery Science Theater with her sister during childhood. That and any B-movie with comedic undertones they could get their hands on. When she's not riding that razor-thin line between creativity and insanity, she likes to read, watch too much cable TV, or cheer like a banshee at her daughters' sporting events. She's an avid Cincinnati sports fan and when she can watch a professional game, she's going to jump at the chance. A. J. loves to connect with fans! I loved how the name Darcy means Dark Walker. She does what she thinks is right and makes sense but to everyone else it seems stupid. I was on the fence about this one. At times I hated it and at times I was laughing like crazy. I guess its a love or hate type thing and you will have to make your own opinion. I ended up enjoying it.

I very much enjoyed Grade A Stupid. I was laughing throughout most of the book. It's full of action, suspence, humor and mystery. My only complaint is that I felt like the MC lacked depth. Otherwise, Grade A. Stupid is a great read!

This review was written by Justine exclusively for Bex 'n' Books.

Grade `A' Stupid is a MUST read! This YA Mystery really transported me back to those drama filled and awkward teenage years. Darcy even at times reminded me of a teenage Stephanie Plum.

I must say AJ kept me in stitches with such gems as when Vinnie is trying to park his girlie POS bug, that's pink and has eyelashes on the head lights!

"Cursing, he tried the whole thing again and lost three eyelashes off his right headlight. Heaven help us, we'd committed three hit and runs, and he'd blinded his Bug."

But sadly as all good things, this too came to an end; and as you will quickly learn, I am a stickler for endings! As I exited Darcyville, I found myself delighted with my visit. AJ took over 400 pages to give us instantly lovable characters, a who-done-it that kept me guessing to the very end, and a conclusion that did just that concluded............. For now.

Book 2 titled "No Brainer" is due this coming spring and I can tell you this, Bex will get out of the way or I'll send the dingoes if I am not the reviewer of that book!

I am giving it 5 fairies!

I was given this book by the author in return for an honest review.

Excellent, an intriguing that really does keep you guessing right up to the end :)
Darcy is certainly brave in pursuing "the baddies" but is definitely "Grade-A stupid" in pursuing what she knows to be a dangerous path!!!
Can't wait to see what Darcy get's upto next!!!!

When I first downloaded this I wasnt sure what to expect.
When Darcy comes across a dead body in a dumpster her life is turned upside down to try and find the killer after her friend is framed for the murder.
Now any regular person who finds a dead body would scream, vomit and/or phone the police. What did Darcy do?........ she decides to take off her shoes and jump in for a closer inspection!
I could say Darcy is all brains and no common sense but her grades are not really reflecting any brain cells.
I absolutely love Darcy and how she sees the world. I also love her relationship with her best friend Dylan (are they or arent they)
I love how the whole book is intense and gripping and I only put it down because I had to sleep.
The build up to discover who was the killer was fantastic and I was definitely not disappointed.
This book is definitely a must read for everyone. I am going to be buying a copy for my daughter for her 12th birthday.

If any of you have ever read the Beautiful Dead series then this book is definitely for you; more gripping and without the zombies ;)
