The are many seeking to put us back under Law, Calvin was used in the past and today we see it coming through the Hebrew Roots movement, they are seeking to make believers think they need to obey Torah. The Law kills and will bring death but only the spirit of Christ brings life and peace. Get this book so you can better understand how important it is to take a hold of tightly, the 'law' that we, the believer is really under - the Law of Christ and Him crucified. It is Him we look to and trust. We have died to the Law so we can be married to another which is, to Jesus.
I especially loved the two stakes in the ground analogy and ploughing from one end to the other whilst looking unto the other stake, and not looking to the right or left but to the stake which is at the other end! I've never read this before, it's one I'll never forget!!!! A great way to understand what it means to look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.
This book was a most timely reminder for me at the moment, especially as I seek to better understand the Jewishness of the faith I have in Jesus, a Jewish Messiah. Saviour to Jew AND Gentile alike but One that doesn't want us to be entangled again with the yoke of bondage to the Law because it will bring a curse and death. Only in Christ will we find life.
Get this book to help you understand the importance of not being entangle again with Law but being crucified with Christ and looking unto Him and obeying His commands, for it is He who is The Perfecter and Finisher of our faith, not the Law.
