This short book (105 pages) is a well written introduction to the life of a private investigator.
The author is a former policeman who had to retire early due to an injury in the line of duty. He wanted to continue his career in law enforcement, and figured he could do well as a private detective.
The book takes you on a tour of more than twenty real life cases of crime detection, from petty peccadillos to insurance fraud to sex and drug offenders.
If you are thinking of a career as a PI, this book will tell you if you have the right stuff to succeed in this occupation.
If you are looking for an interesting read about real life in the field of private investigation, without Hollywood exaggeration, this is the book for you.
John D Waterman
His Vietnam experiences, and years as a NC State Highway Patrolman created a warrior, a professional, determined to help his clients.
The vignettes in his book are risqué, humorous, and just downright dirty…very symbolic of the human condition.
My favorite is the wife-nurse-sex worker.
