It fits very well indeed, the pockets at the back (two large to either side, one medium in the centre, and a small zippered pocket "on top of" the medium pocket) easily take whatever you care to put in them. Normally I can't zip things up to my neck as they make me feel sick, but the neck on this jacket seems to be perfect, it doesn't touch my larynx like other, cheaper jackets. The wrists have a nice big stretchy bit of fabric that easily covers the end of my gloves.
It'll stand full on rain for about 30 minutes before water gets in, always around the elbows and wrists. After that, you're going to get cold. Speaking of cold, the jacket does a great job of keeping the wind at bay, you barely feel it, but the downside is that sweat can't get out. And that means that if you sweat a lot, and you stop and let the sweat cool down, you'll stay cold. My advice then is to take the jacket off completely if you have to stop - let the sweat evaporate from your body. Turn the sleeves inside out and let the jacket dry as much as you can, before you put it back on.
I'd definitely buy another, it's a nice jacket to own. I wash it at 30C in the washing machine, as per instructions. There's no colour bleed.
Fantastic. i went out the other day in -3 C for a long ride, with just a tee - shirt underneath. At no time was i cold or sweaty. Quite amazing. Last night it was 5 C degrees and raining very hard. I went up some very steep hills. Not only did i stay dry, but i did not get sweaty either.
I have yet to ware it in warmer conditions. For me it would be probably to hot in any temperature above 10 C.
I bought it for really cold weather, and its perfect for that. I have a Gore bike wear Alp X - pro for the warmer temperatures, and thats perfect for that.
This Power 2.0 Soft Shell with a couple of Base layers would surely be good way below -3 C.
The fit is great, and the pockets are well placed and the zip pocket is big enough for a iPhone 5 with cover.
Great product. Generous cut and great arm length means you don't get cold around the wrists or neck and I find the low back all helps to keep you warmer. Did a 40 miler in 2 degree C with only a base layer and I was a bit too warm. Can't wait until it gets really cold to put it through its paces.
Very comfortable jacket for windy winter weather and cooes with a bit of rain too. At 10oC it is. a little too warm but have ridden with it down to 0oC and have been very comfortable. Pockets are great, big and tight and zipped pocket is nice and secure. The waterproof bag just fits an iPhone 5.
