Brilliant as an entrylevel drone. Really good fun to fly. Camera and photo's aren't great but what do you expect for between £30 - £40. Definitely order more batteries and practice in wide open spaces!
Excellent entry-level quadcopter at a good price, a usable camera and the sort of purchase which, if you don't grow to like the hobby and move up to a better machine, will probably bring you a tenner at a car boot sale.
Its brilliant, easy to fly, get about 8 mins per battery so worth having a few spares, they're easy to change. In mode 2 its really nippy but still easy to control even with a bit of wind around. Its got a reasonable range, all you really need vertically for its size. I've seen some you tube mods that give more range. The only issue I have is working out orientation, its got red lights at front and green at rear but you can only see these if its above you, but I guess that'll be the same case for all quads. Camera is not too bad actually, I've see some comments that its not good but for the price you cannot complain and looking at the output I think its quite reasonable, Actually looks HD (720p). For an entrylevel drone its a good buy.
This Quadcopter is first class.!! I would recommend the new X5C to anyone..It is a very versatile aircraft, from fast stunt flying to a stable platform to shoot aerial video / photographs. It is very stable in flight, and can fight moderate head winds with the "high" settings on the controller. I would recommend installing the blade protectors (provided) if you are a beginner, this would prevent injury to you, animals and property. The 2MP camera supplied is of reasonable quality for the price HD 1280x720 30fps. It is mounted at an unusual angle downwards and you will record a lot of ground at low altitude or flying into the wind, however this is quite an easy adjustment and there are various ways to tackle this mod. The picture quality suffers in low light, (grainy) and tends to flash from light to dark depending on the skylight. In bright sunlight, the picture quality & colour balance is very good. It can suffer from flicker (shadow from blades cast across the lens) and jello (air frame vibration / air turbulence) and this is common to most aircraft and camera mountings, but this effect is minimal when hovering at a reasonable height. Overall I have found this package to be very good value for money, and provides a good entrylevel platform to start from. Happy flying..
Utterly surprised! I wanted to purchase an entrylevel drone but not pay too much for it. This drone fitted the bill perfectly but I was suspicious that something this cheap would be any use or sturdy enough. I read all of the reviews and decided to purchase this drone and some extra batteries for the model (also from Amazon). When the package arrived from China, in reasonable time, I couldn't wait to try it. Quickly unpacked - batteries charged & fitted - then my first flight! The manual was easy to understand and I managed to get used to the controls fairly quickly - the drone did fly into the ceiling, doors, furniture, me & windows while getting used to the controls but without any damage! I felt confident enough to take the drone into the outside world - the day was fairly still, so from the confines of my small garden off I went. I had to rescue the drone from the neighbour's a couple of times but was fairly pleased with my first outside effort. Over the next couple of weeks I took the drone outside as much as possible (weather permitting) including a couple of fairly blustery days - I am now fairly confident of using the drone, can make it fly at any height and in any direction - I was surprised to find just how far the drone can be flown from the main controller & how high it could achieve! I have used the camera quite frequently and the video quality is surprisingly good - the one shot camera picture quality not so good but this is a £30 drone & camera! I know I'm using the word surprise an awful lot but that's how I feel about this drone - the fact it comes with all the necessary accessories to view the 4GB mini SD card (fits into a small plastic USB reader) - the small Phillips headed screw-driver + spare blades (not used as yet) all for such a fantastic low price. People may be amazed that I have given this product 5 stars as it does have some failings - battery life (approx. 7 mins); camera quality; not being able to see what you are looking at when filming; but this drone is just over £30! and for that price you cannot fault it - I reckon my adult son now wants one for Christmas & quite a few people that have seen the videos I have taken & been told about the drone want one. My advice - buy now (before they realise this is a perfect starter kit & put the price up!). Pros - PRICE; Easy to fly. Cons - At the price none - but buy more batteries to extend the time you can fly.
A ridiculous amount of fun for the money. Mine arrived yesterday and I've already had my money's worth.
Precision flying in the house - Check. Drone footage of the back garden and house obtained - Check. Impressed the local kids at the park - Check. Longer range outings - planned. I don't feel the need to upgrade yet.
This quad copter lives up to the hype, it's extremely stable and manoeuvrable. I've been flying in light winds (10-15mph) and it's easily controllable if you're ok with remote control vehicles. The battery life is about 10-12 minutes from the 500mah battery (more than the Youtube reviews state) but the battery takes nearly two hours to charge via USB so best to get more batteries - I got 4 x 700mah batteries with a quad-charger for £9.99 on Amazon. I've had no range issues yet - I find the small size of the drone means I turn back before range becomes an issue.
The camera angle is too low, you only see the horizon when you pull fully back - luckily it can easily be DIY'd into a better position. The package includes a 4GB memory card, good for about 20 minutes of footage, and a USB card reader. The video quality is mediocre, but ok for a toy.
Had this given to me as a gift. As an entrylevel drone I find it difficult to fly with accuracy but that could be my inexperience. I find it hard to hover to enable me to set the trim, practice should solve this. My first flight resulted in a Fly away, lost the drone but managed to locate it the following day. My best tip is to find someone who is more experienced to give you a couple of lessons ! Overall very good value and a good starting point without breaking the bank. I'm hooked and now considering buying a phantom.
