    For the last 12 months I had the Pixel 2XL which was a nice phone. Got this as it was £349 (Argos) wanted a 2nd phone for personal. So I looked into dual Sims and the esim is the new technology that will probably be installed on all new phones going forward. Set up: I have an EE esim (qr code) and a physical SIM card on three UK. Both numbers work side by side make calls texts on either one and select what SIM you want to be main one for data. Or you can change with a tap of SW either way it's very easy. The esim has the option to be turned off so if you don't want to be contacted you can turn it off with a tap. While the physical SIM will now become the main. You can tag each SIM with your own name, work personal etc and also set a colour. When calling and receiving calls it show's you what SIM they are calling on and or what SIM you are going to make the call on. SMS is the same you have the option what SIM to select. Call history also shows what SIM was used to make / received calls. WiFi calling is the same you have the option per SIM if you want this toggled on or off you have the choice. Google have done a great job here and for the price this phone is right up there. No need to spend thousands on a phone when this phone can do it just as good if not better.

      Can't rate this phone enough. Spent the last 2 weeks tearing through reviews of just about every phone available, finally settled on the 3a and could not be happier. Firstly delivery was ultra rapid, came next day when I wasn't expecting it for at least 3. Bought "used - like new" and apart from the box having been opened once before it was completely untouched and spotless. The phone itself is beautiful. Great size, with a tall, slim screen. Coming from a 5.65" honor 9 lite and wanting something a similar size, this was perfect. Great balance between easy handling and a sizeable screen. Despite being a polycarbonate body, the phone has a nice weight to it and feels like a well engineered bit of kit. Don't even notice it's not all metal and glass like the flagships. The phone was a breeze to set up, box comes with everything you need, including an adapter to plug your old phone onto the 3a to transfer files, which was quick and handy. The UI is intuitive and responsive, took a brief moment to get familiar with where everything was but that's to be expected. Screen display is nice and bright with great colour. Ample storage space for my needs (coming from 32gb to 64gb is a dream: obviously 128gb would be nice but realistically ill never need it all). And finally the camera, which is undoubtedly the best camera in this price range, and without shelling out for an iPhone 11 I doubt you'll bet better pictures on any other phone. Night sight is an absolute mind melter as well, crazy how easily you can take fantastic low light shots. All in all this seems like a great phone and satisfies exactly what I wanted off a new handset, great camera, decent battery and processing, modest storage, sleek design, and well engineered OS/UI that'll continue to be updated in the coming years. Can't recommend this enough especially for the price you can get it at now

      I'm only discussing in detail the camera of the Pixel 3a because it is a perfectly good phone which does all the usual things any smartphone does, and despite being slightly cut down from the Pixel 3, 3xl or 4 it still operates smoothly, effortlessly, has a decent screen, good sound and everything an iphone has but at a third or even quarter of the price.

      It is the camera that sets this phone apart. It is absolutely stunning. The only thing it lacks compared with higher spec Pixels is the super wide virtual lens mode, but this is easily overcome by doing a panoramic shot adjustable from slighly wide to a full 180+degrees. You'll get a slightly cropped vertical but it is perfectly usable and by the way panoramic mode has the best, most flawless stitching I have seen on ANY camera, including full frame and APS-C devices.

      Comparing several interior shots of, say flowers or other objects, with similar photos on my Micro Four Thirds camera and another mid range DSLR, carefully setup with perfect focus and preparation, the Pixel 3a consistently produced sharper, more vibrant pictures. What was surprising is that even looking at 100% crops the Pixel showed still sharper images with significantly less noise and virtually no loss of sharpness.

      The night mode is equally brilliant and knocked my other cameras for six. I took a panoramic shot of my house and garden half an hour after senset. There was barely any light yet the image was bright, focused and vibrant.

      While the stock images are a little over-vivid and perhaps too rich to be believed, it is a doddle to edit them in phone to reduce exposure, white balance, colour, highlights, shadows, blacks and whites. This editing is so good that it almost replaces any need to import its optional RAW images into Lightroom or a similar editor.

      The brutal fact is that this camera quite easily out guns my other conventional cameras in every respect apart from optical zoom and video, although even the video quality and stabilisation gets quite close.

      This camera phone is eminently useable for anything from travel, to portraits to street and landscapes. It won't exceed the quality of a top level APS-C camera or full frame, but it will make any point and shoot with a 1 inch or consumer-level small sensor redundant unless you require high zoom levels for say wildlife, action sports or other zoom-dependent, burst modes.

      No other camera phone comes close at the current price of £299. Highly Recommended.
