It is a real bonus with this entire series that the recipes are straightforward, broken down into three manageable steps and with a colour picture so you can see what the end result should look like. It is brilliant to enclose a full nutritional breakdown of a portion of each recipe too. You can then see how much fat, salt, etc you are consuming which is so useful for trying to eat more healthily.
Definitely recommended if you like the idea of eating healthily and cutting back on the calories without even noticing that you are cutting back!
By the way, I bought the Kindle version of this, and it is very useable with pictures etc included. They obviously appear as black and white on the Kindle itself, but if you want to see them in colour, then you can always download the "Kindle for pc" programme or take a look via the Kindle app on your smartphone if you have one.
I have also tried the Toad in the Hole, spicy pork and aubergine, pork with pine kernels which is devine and a great meal if you have guests, spicy chicken and apricot stew, cider and mustard chicken and for a great salad cajun spiced chicken.
As you can see I love these recipes and so does my husband. A lot of the chicken recipes use the thigh and I was a bit put off by this because normally I only eat the breast, but not anymore only thighs for me from now on they are cheaper and so much more tastier, I have even converted my husband. Excellent book and a great christmas gift
I was looking for an exciting low fat cookery book, this just isn't exciting enough for me, it did not have me drooling or rushing to the kitchen, and considering I am a food-a-holic,(hence the need for LOW FAT cooking), that is not good at all. The food is not what I'd call 'everyday food' yet it lacks adventure. Strange but true.
This book has it all. It has recipes covering every meat so you never miss out on flavours - and the recipes are packed with this. Even if some of the recipes are things you can already make, it helps with making things a bit lighter in fat or calories.
It's so good I'm about to purchase the 101 more low-fat reacipes!
For a small amount of money, you get an easy to follow recipe with excellent results. Well worth it and highly recommended.
