The era of the Savastano clan, who once undisputedly reigned over north Naples, seems to be coming to an end. What lies ahead now is the largest ever power vacuum in the history of the Camorra a coalition of crime families in and around the urban backstreets of Naples.
The king, Don Pietro Savastano (Fortunato Cerlino), has abdicated, only to be replaced by his son Genny Savastano (Salvatore Esposito) at least momentarily. Although still having loyal soldiers, the Savastano s see themselves opposed by their once loyal right-hand man Ciro the Immortal Di Marzio (Marco D Amore), who is not the only one working on ending their bloody reign.
The sinister drug baron, Conte, is back in town building alliances and there are two new contenders for the throne of north Naples. The only certainty about the future nothing is certain.
Gomorrah is based on the international bestselling book by Roberto Saviano who exposed the Camorra mafia syndicate based in and around Naples, and has been living under police protection for eight years.

Hard hitting, no holds barred Mafia style series.Absolutely loved it. Also have the book for this and others by this author.
From the get go, after the events of the previous season, Ciro successfully bring together the opponents of the devastated Savastanos clan into a co-operative of smaller bands, headed each by Ciro, his friend and co-conspirator Rosario, Don Salvatore Conte, and ex-Savastano subordinates Donna Annalisa and Gypsy. However, Ciro's endeavours to allay his wife’s’ concerns go astray. While Genny has awoken from his coma and flees Naples, his father’s jails break is successful and he flees to Germany.
The look and feel and the textures that make up Gomorrah do not look too dissimilar from the Baltimore of The Wire. This is a series that is crude and ugly, and yet so startlingly realistic in its presentation. As the audience is immersed on a tour de force of sleazy backstreets, no-hope vandalised dwellings and indulgent apartments garishly furnished fresh from the set of Scarface, with mafia dons ill-gotten gains. This second series, for me surpasses the first – and is even more addictive then the first, therefore highly recommended.
Some good news; the producer has confirmed 2 more seasons are in the works, and the third season is almost ready
