It would be very easy to dismiss this as just another electro house compilation, and in my opinion Godskitchen havent released a decent CD in years. However, after making an impulse buy at Tesco, I can honestly say this is a definitive electro CD, and the finest Godskitchen compilation since they released compilations as 3 CD boxsets (you know...Disc 1 -11pm, Disc 2 - 1am & Disc 3...3am).

For a genre being killed right now, its incredible how fresh this CD sounds. Disc 1 is Electric House whereas Disc 2 is Electric Trance. The highlight of Disc 1 for me is the Vonstroke Mix of Magic Carpet Ride 07. A monstrous tune. This follows from M.A.N.D.Y vs Booka Shade's Body Language and gets mixed into Prydas Remember. It makes for incredible listening as the mixing is probably done by computer as its flawless. The rest of the CD doesent disappoint, with crowd pleasers like the Dirty South Mix of Higher State of Consciousness and the Angello Remix of Hypnotize being my personal highlights.
Disc 2 I was expecting less from, as to be honest Ive got bored with trance recently. Having listened it is probably the better of the two. Sander Van Doorms Grasshoper and Les Dijinns are unique, but in a good way. Alex M.O.R.P.H & Rank 1s Life Less Ordinary and the Coco & Green Mix of Black is the Colour are truly outstanding tunes and remind me of how trance was in the late nineties, but with a truly filthy beat.

Go and buy this CD if you want Electro without Ministry cheese. Godskitchens CDs are back on form.

Firstly, the track listing above is INCOMPLETE and only shows a selection of tracks from the 2CD boxset. Please see bottom of my review for full track listings.

Like the reviewer before me, I had not bought a Godskitchen compilation album since the Anthems one (still one of the all time greatest 3CD boxsets!). But with my taste for trance increasing I thought I'd give this a try.

Both CDs are good in their own right bur CD2 really does it for me. Here are my faves: "This World Is Watching Me-Armin Van Buuren Vs Rank 1 Feat. Kush" - top trance track (although the original mix is a lot better but not trancy). "Pulverturm 2.0-Niels Van Gogh Vs Eniac [Eric Smax & Thomas Gold Remix]" - the kick in this around the 2 mins mark is awesome. "Black Is The Colour-Cara Dillon Vs 2Devine [Coco & Green Remix]" - fantastic. "Grasshopper-Sander Van Doorn". "Les Djinns-Djuma Soundsystem [Swen Weber Remix]".

Enjoy what is truly great Electric Trance compilation.

Good album. The Godskitchen CD's are great value. This one has two CD's with around 40 tracks. Certainly not the best Godskitchen comp, my favourite until now is Godskitchen Pure Trance Anthems. This album still delivers though but is a bit more pedestrian than some of their other albums. You will enjoy it but it may not push all your buttons so to speak.

Would have to say this is a very poor a temped by gods kitchen people . It's one of those CDs you buy and just sits it the bottom of your cd pile and gathers dust. About once a year you come cross it . Put it on the realise why it you never listen to it .

Great mix showcasing the 'in' sound of electro in house and trance. CD1 edges it for me, but great comp overall.
