HASH(0x983fced4) out of 5 stars Exactly what I've been waiting for. 3 April 2009
By Aiko Daiichi - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Gnosticism is a term that gets used and abused by so many different factions in our contemporary society. This periodical is a fresh and very welcomed introduction to the subject according to some of its best and brightest proponents. I recommend this to anyone who would like a nice sampling of articles that provide a great overview of what sorts of influence Gnosticism now wields in the academic, pop cultural, ecclesiastical, and literary worlds. I look forward to the next volume.

HASH(0x983fd324) out of 5 stars Not to be Missed 26 Jun. 2013
By Linda Johnsen - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
You can easily find magazines on current events, science, music, new hair cuts, even on bridal dresses, but you won't find much on spirituality -- probably the most important aspect of many of our lives. "The Gnostic" helps fill this frustrating void, though its subject matter is largely limited to the "renegade" elements of early Christianity. (In the first few centuries after Christ, Gnostic practitioners were actually as legitimately Christian as the sects we now consider orthodox.)

The articles and interviews presented here are fascinating and intelligent. Don't miss this terrific new journal!

HASH(0x983fd204) out of 5 stars Gnosis Reborn> 23 Sept. 2009
By Thomas E. Ragland - Published on Amazon.com

My expectations for The Gnostic is that it may be a continuation of the Gnosis Magazine tradition from the 1990s. It looks like it is off to a good start, but I'm wondering what future issues will be like.

HASH(0x983fceec) out of 5 stars I wouldn't buy another 1 25 Nov. 2009
By R. West - Published on Amazon.com

Not that it was exactly bad, but it was nothing compared to the original magazine "Gnosis" that it was based on. Now THAT was a good magaine, which is now gone. This was sold as a book, but it was based, definitely, on the old Gnosis magazine. Try again!
