Product Description

All 22 episodes of the first series of the phenomenally popular and Golden Globe-winning teen musical comedy series. When bored Spanish teacher Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) takes over the high school glee club, he envisages restoring it to its past glories. To this end, he assembles a small but talented group of social misfits, whose combined talents soon give rise to an extravaganza of show-stopping music and dance performances. The episodes are: 'Pilot', 'Showmance', 'Acafellas', 'Preggers', 'The Rhodes Not Taken', 'Vitamin D', 'Throwdown', 'Mash-Up', 'Wheels', 'Ballad', 'Hairography', 'Mattress', 'Sectionals', 'Hell-O', 'The Power of Madonna', 'Home', 'Bad Reputation', 'Laryngitis', 'Dream On', 'Theatricality', 'Funk' and 'Journey'.

From Amazon.co.uk

Few shows bottle pure delight like Glee, a TV series about the ups and downs of a high school glee club, or show choir. The show lures you in with its musical numbers, a mix of classic rock and Broadway show tunes performed by a cast of marvelous singers and dancers--but what keeps you watching are the wonderful characters, ranging from Rachel (Lea Michele), whose self-obsession is as uninhibited as it is annoying; to Emma (Jayma Mays), a germ-phobic guidance counsellor; to Kurt (Chris Colfer), a cherubic young gay man who discovers he's got a fantastic football kick. The centre of the show is Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison), the earnest Spanish teacher of McKinley High School, who's determined to guide the glee club to victory at a national competition. He sees this collection of overemotional misfits as heroic, but they're looked down on as losers by the rest of the school--especially Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch, The 40 Year Old Virgin, Best In Show), the ruthless cheerleading coach who will stop at nothing to destroy the glee club before they can take even a fraction of her extravagant budget. Glee fuses adolescent soap opera, the comic pettiness of academic politics, and exuberant song and dance. (While it would be better if the songs weren't so glossily produced, it's impossible to deny the pep and talent of these young performers.) Somehow, the characters manage to be cartoonish yet multi-dimensional; even the nicest characters are capable of being jerks and the most manipulative have moments of sympathy or grace. Throw in vividly coloured costume designs and blisteringly funny rants from Sue, and it's easy to see why Glee became an unexpected hit. --Bret Fetzer

Feel Good, get up and dance, put a smile on your face brilliance!
22 episodes of amazing songs, choreography and epic drama's. Glee takes a year in the lives in the slightly disfunctional glee clubbers and their teacher mr schu. These 12 girls and guys take all the good and all the bad and give really good tv, whilst also throwing out some amazing tunes. It is one of those shows that you can watch over and over again, and I dare say the whole thing in one sitting. So get your dancing shoes and your mic, because glee is awesome. You probably know this but incase you don't and have not seen glee yet, be prepared to become a gleek!

Ok im a bit of a tv snob who usualy looks down on soap operas, high school musical and the like. But I was flicking through the channels and decided to watch some of this (ok it was series 2 episode 1). I expected it to be a load of tosh, but i really enjoyed it. So I decided to get the first series on DVD. I am not dissapointed, ok it is a bit cheesy, and the characters are a bit simple and lack any realy depth. But i have to stop myself from watching it. I am a 19 year old male who usualy watches horror and war films. But Glee somehow has a certain charm to it.

I know a lot of people who "hate" glee and they've never watched it. Their idea is, one cheesy cover of an already good song after another enters the charts and stays there for a long time and it's annoying.

Glee is so much more than just cover songs people! I defy even the harshest cynic to watch an episode of Glee and NOT find themselves smiling, dancing and singing along to the "cheesy covers" afterwards. As another reviewer has said, Glee makes no pretentions about what it is. It makes fun of itself in every episode and it manages to tackle sensitive issues as well without being depressing about it. Glee honestly does make you feel good! The fact that the public choose to download the songs just proves how addictive it really is.

I can't praise this show enough, I really can't. The actors are all perfect in the roles and every single character is memorable and loveable. It brings a smile to my face every time I watch it and I can watch it over and over again. I'd like to point out as well that I'm a married woman, not a teenager. I'm certainly not a fan of Twilight or High School Musical that's for sure!

If you've never watched it, give it a chance and join the bandwagon - us Gleeks are taking over the world!

Pity the "freaks" at Ohio's William McKinley High! Soup is hurled in their faces, they themselves thrown into dumpsters. They need a champion. Enter teacher Will Schuester. He wants to re-establish the school's Glee club, using song and dance to help build up their self-esteem. Principal Figgins agrees to a trial run, to continue only if successful in competitions....

22 episodes chart progress as the "misfits" gradually gain confidence. Inevitable is teenage angst some may consider cheesy. Cynics may also scoff at full scale production numbers seemingly whipped up in minutes. Most, though, are likely to be bowled over by a likeable, talented cast and the sheer energy of it all - such enthusiasm impossible to resist.

Matthew Morrison appeals as kindly, dedicated Will. Jane Lynch is hilariously horrible as his archenemy, the cheerleaders' coach Sue - McKinley's very own Wicked Witch of the West. Terror is her weapon as she sets out to destroy Glee. Politically incorrect, to put it mildly, she specializes in blistering putdowns. (On television she urges all local fatties and uglies to stay indoors so her eyes are not offended.) Here is a true monster - but with a secret softer side. Prepare for surprises - not least when she bursts into song and dance.

Throughout, there is so much to like - not to mention many, many laughs. (Note how the football team scores its first win in ages.) The fun includes famous guest stars like Olivia Newton John mercilessly sending themselves up. Some sequences are also extremely moving - as with that deaf school's performance of "Imagine". Highlights include homages to Madonna, Lady Gaga and Queen - all of the routines ambitious and inventive. Generous bonuses prove lively and interesting.

I can't believe this has been removed from Prime! We are just about to start season 2 and there's no way we're going to pay £1.89 per episode!
Amazon, put it back on Prime and stop being money grabbers!

Many people I work with think Glee is completely rubbish. Have they watched it? No. I was like this until about 6 months ago. I watched the last few episodes and was hooked. My other half thought I was mad! She couldnt see how it would work. Its like a light hearted Fame. But the musical numbers will have you hooked. Now she is too! Its ironic that the male partner took to this first, even more ironic when you consider Im a black belt at taekwondo and normally like ulltra violent sci fi and martial arts films.

So what we have here is a cheerful, or more accurately hopeful look at the world. Im so sick of the depressing tv on right now. Eastenders, crime dramas, etc it all serves to make us miserable. Glee isnt realistic, what it is is cheerful optimistic and happy. It makes you feel better about life after just one hour.

If you dont like this, then you have no soul and I feel sorry for you. this has cheered me up far more than anything else when I feel down.
