I read an excerpt of this book on a blog then moments later wound up buying it immediately. The concept hooked me in the first place, a world where there is a shortage of women due to a deadly virus. All remaining women are given in a lottery to groups of six men at the age of 21 to ensure the continuation of the human race.
This book had the opportunity to be sleazy, however, it was far more interesting than that. The story follows one girl who reaches 21 and is given to the six men that won her in the lottery. As the story progresses the dynamics are complicated in the new family and everyone has opinions on the situation the human race is in.
I loved the book and couldn't put it down until I'd finished it. There were parts that I didn't expect which is always a bonus. The characters of the 6 are interesting as they develop and Krista is one tough girl.
Great book, will definitely look out foe more by this author

The plot is good and it makes you think, the idea of a world where women are so scarce that they become the most prized possession, possession being the key word here, is utterly scary and unsettling but, once the protagonist meets her assigned 6 men, the story and its appeal just went downwards for me.
Everything in this story feels rushed and not quite finished up for me; even the steamy scenes felt rushed, kind of intense but too short; furthermore there were 2 big "jumps" on time in the storyline which contributed to that rushed feeling.
Kind of like if the author hadn't known what to do with the story at that point and decided to move forward a little. I hate the trend of dragging stories on forever with lots of useless info and descriptions in order to "build" a series from a story which should have been a stand alone book, but with this one story I feel exactly the opposite, it needed more in depth and the relationships between the characters should have been developed further... but from the beginning you kind of realize that the author is not really interested in this as she is really setted up in "defending" monogamy and it feels like if, in order to do so, she doesn't want (or know how to) give more in depth to the rest of characters (such a predictable ending by the way!)
Also all the cliched lines, feelings, angst... were just too much; the last pages were just over the top! I couldn't stop with the eye-rolling.
In spite of all of the above I'm given this book a 3 star rating because the plot was kind of original and it intrigued me (at least at the beginning) and the writting wasn't bad BUT I'm still sorry I've spent over 5$ in this book
With 7 primary characters really and a relatively short book, we didn't get to know everyone all that well, but what was there was interesting and insightful, with several interesting problems brought forth and discussed.
No spoilers here, but to say there is a HEA but not for every single character, and there are some surprises at the end for sure. I thought it was quite well done for length. I enjoyed the story a lot.
