All ten episodes from the second season of the Golden Globe-winning HBO comedy drama following a group of 20-something women in New York. The show's creator Lena Dunham stars as Hannah, a struggling writer living in Brooklyn who finds herself broke when her parents decide to cut off their financial support. As she attempts to deal with the trials of life including problems at work and in her relationship with Adam (Adam Driver), her friends Marnie (Allison Williams), Jessa (Jemima Kirke) and Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) each battle with their own issues. In this series, Hannah finally gets a chance to progress with her writing but finds the stress of the situation brings back the Obsessive Compulsive Disorder she had as a teenager. Elsewhere, Marnie loses her job and decides to pursue her passion for singing; the recently wed Jessa finds that her marriage is already in trouble and tries to reconnect with her father; and Shoshanna's relationship with Ray (Alex Karpovsky) continues to develop. The episodes are: 'It's About Time', 'I Get Ideas', 'Bad Friend', 'It's a Shame About Ray', 'One Man's Trash', 'Boys', 'Video Games', 'It's Back', 'On All Fours' and 'Together'.

I finally (sadly) finished watching "Girls" Season 2 last night - and I LOVED IT!

My initial disappointment with the first couple of episodes was quickly overturned as the season progressed, I was hooked. The show continues to be edgy, smart, funny, quite unique, different and a bit (sometimes more than a bit) awkward (and this comes with the season when we barely see Hannah naked!). There are a few story lines that go through the season, from Shoshanna's relationship with Ray to Hannah's OCD (brilliantly done! If you ever had even a mild form of OCD, you will appreciate and recognise the motions Hannah goes through.). Each episode is its own story, and each chapter is one brilliant sitcom in its own right. Overall the show was very much enjoyed by me.

I loved all of the characters, from narcissistic and aloof Jenna to uptight Marnie (also quite narcissistic and manipulative, it turns out!), and curious, honest, with a wry sense of humour, phenomenal (and embracing it) Hannah, and, of course, Shoshanna, who, it seems, is the only lead female character who has her life together (i.e. she goes to college, she is able to communicate her needs and desires to her fellow characters and has a moral barometer that is working!).

Time flew by! (And I appreciated less than half an hour episodes - you can watch a few and still have an evening left!) Yes, when I think about this I admit there is not a lot of philosophising going on, and I appreciate a lot of people may think there is no substance to the series, no glowing idea behind "Girls". But I tend to disagree. And in any case, I think the series is a great way to banish the boredom and cringe at the mistakes made by someone else, rather than you.

I cannot wait to get my hands on the Third Season so I can watch it all in one weekend!

Along with buying Downton Abbey and Madmen, this programme has become a 'token' Christmas or birthday present for my girlfriend. I actually quite like it as well, it's a lot more realistic than Sex and the City, very funny in parts and with likeable characters. I don't think it was as good as the first series though.

I really enjoyed the first season where the quirky characters delivered some great lines, and their cringe-worthy situations were poignant and relatable: it was littered with some laugh-out-loud lines. What happened in S2?

Like life imitating art, the writing just doesn't come together. Every one of the main characters becomes annoying and whiney, and you have no sympathy or support for any of them, with the exception of Charlie, played by Christopher Abbot. The fact that this actor has left the show abruptly at pre-production of S3 (he was unhappy with the direction the show was taking), speaks VOLUMES on how trite this season is compared to season 1.

Each episode seems like improvisation and there is only a loose thread of a storyline throughout, making each episode almost standalone, with cameos from people who are complete caricatures delivery nothing but cheesy lines.

I really hope S3 resembles S1 more, as I would drop this show if S2 is the new vein. It is borderline depressing and really has no message any more.

2 stars for the guys who are probably the most watchable.

Incidentally, after Christopher Abbots departure, Lena has said the show does not need the guys to make it work. Oh dear.......

I have watched all the four seasons of Girls and have really enjoyed watching them, although some parts are a bit cringeworthy. It's a more relatable and modern version of Sex on the City. Very witty comedy. I would recommend giving this a watch if you liked the first season or like other girly sitcoms. It would also make a good birthday/Christmas present! And who thought Adam would go on to play Kylo Ren (in Star Wars)!

Self indulgent drivel. Was sick and tired of Hannah stripping off. Far fetched nonsense. Made me feel nauseous in parts. Watch something else, something actually intelligent rather than something pseudo intelligent

Great season, just as good as the first season, laugh out loud comedy, easy to watch, great fun and great soundtrack with some touching moments. Full of different emotions.
Fans of Sex & The City and teen dramas would enjoy. Saying that I'm 33 and loved it!

This series is so, so much better than the first. The characters really come alive and have to deal with their difficult personal issues. I particularly found the character of Hannah going through her meltdown really upsetting and very true to life. The series also shows Marnie dealing with the fallout of her break up with Charlie, Soshanna's new found sexual awakening and Jessa's quickly disintegrating marriage. Great acting from all of the cast and a brilliant script. Can't wait for series 3!!!

This season is by far the best series so far. It actually has a story besides the first season, if I were a beginner to the show, I'd just watch it from season 2! Can't wait for the third!
