Quoridor , the amazing-maze game, is a must among strategy games. The rules are amazingly simple: just make it through the maze your opponent creates to get to the other side. Quoridor requires strategy and quick thinking. This fast-paced game is suitable for two or four players and games lasts around 15 minutes. The solid wooden construction of this ‘Classic’ edition gives it an elegant, coffee-table appeal. How to play: on your turn you may either move your pawn one space (forward, backward or sideways), or place a wall. Walls can be placed anywhere on the board but can't make it impossible for you opponent to get to the other side (just very, very hard). The first pawn to reach the opposite side wins.

Object of the game:
To be the first player to move their pawn to the opposite side of the board. Each turn players may either move their pawn one space, or place one of their 'fences' to block movement.
The gameplay is simple and quick with a typical game lasting around 20 minutes. Understanding the consequences of playing a fence is the key to this game which seems at first glance to be so plain. In my experience the option to have 4 players is a novelty and the best games are a classic two player duel - I can't imagine how a 3 player game would work as a key part of the game is moving past your opponent.
Quoridor can be enjoyed by both adults and children - however I can imagine younger children becoming frustrated with being blocked as with most two player strategy games the competition is very direct.
The Board & Pieces
This is one of the best looking and well-made games that I own - The varnished wooden pieces and board could sit quite happily next to a nice chess set.
The only issue is an occasional outbreak of warfare from children who on't like being blocked!
Its simple but utterly addictive.
A beautifully made board game ~ particularly liked the solid structure of the board itself
The best thing is that this game of strategy takes the kids off the computers & back into a board game
A must have for every family!

Nice, simple and addictive. I just recommend to have 4 players. 2 is good but not as fun. :)Published 19 months ago by Tarcilio N.
