I purchased this on 14 Mar 2012, nearly 3 years have passed and I still have this! Last year, it got quite dirty at one point and so I decided that either I throw this away or I attempt to wash it! I took it all apart and washed or hoovered it, but I feared that I screwed up and possibly made the covers under the mouse too rough and might have ruined the smoothness under it, but no, I was able to stick them back on quite easily, without even any glue needed. Good build quality by Gigabyte!
I voted this 3 out of 5 stars because the issue above seems to make this mouse one reason why I would prefer an alternative mouse. The build quality is spot on, the price at the time of purchase was perfect (£26.99), the reviews and specs of this mouse is good. But I am tired of mouses with these supposedly "gaming" designs, with cracks and gaps all over the mouse for dirt and anything that can get stuck in there to get stuck in there.. Ironically it's the gamers who use these mouses constantly and myself, being an average of 25 hours a week gaming, and I have dirt stuck on the gaps between the corners and to clean this I need to either pull apart the mouse or use some sort of pin and cloth to squeeze it out.
The light on the mouse fades on and off when the computer is on standby/asleep, so basically it knows the computer is standby/asleep, so this means (with the colour of your choice!) you have an entire dark room blinking blue/red/green/orange - which is very annoying if you also sleep in the same room.
So I have now decided, I will not purchase a "gaming mouse" that has these stupid design concepts.
