Anyway it arrived within two working days in the Christmas period using Amazon Super Saver delivery which I was very impressed about.
Next I plugged it into the computer and it installed in seconds without any discs and it was ready to play. I then opened Far Cry 3 and gave it ago.
WOW what a fantastic mouse, comfortable and easy to use. I am so glad I purchased it, worth every penny.
That's the negatives out of the way.
The mouse was actually very good, I received the 2nd version of this mouse which has rubber grips on both sides, is slightly more comfortable and feels less "plasticky" than v1, which I had used at a friends house.
The packaging was in a tough plastic box, which had the mouse displayed very nicely, and easy to unpack and plug in.
I don't find it a problem that the software wasn't included on the CD, and was mentioned on the box that it is available to download on their website, took literally 1 minute to find and install, for the ability to customize any and all buttons as I saw fit, and also to change the sensitivity of the mouse.
For gaming I keep the DPI at around 1200 and 1600 for browsing and normal PC use. The mouse is much more comfortable to use than my previous mouse which I bought for £5, and the accuracy is very good on a sharkoon 1337 gaming mouse mat.
I have returned the defective mouse, and will update with the replacement, if there are no further problems.
For now I will give this mouse 3 stars, I noticed that browsing without a working scroll wheel can be quite annoying.
(EDIT): I have received a replacement and everything works perfectly, I definitely recommend this mouse to anyone who wants a budget gaming mouse.
This one is now much better than V1, and feels like it's expensive counterparts.
I'm giving this the full 5.
I have been using this mouse for two years, and after the initial replacement in 2013, I have had 0 problems with this mouse, in fact it is very comfortable when using it, perfect for full palm grip whilst gaming, I don't even have to think about the mouse.
It has the same feel as the m6800, abit more sensitive, and looks a lot cooler.
The ghost logo on the mouse lights up, and you can choose between 5 colours for it to glow.
There are also adjustable weights, and these are very handy, especially if you are used to a heavy mouse
Altogether, I would definitely recommend this product, feels good, looks good. what more can I say.
Good Job Gigabyte
EDIT: 3 months
Still happy with the mouse, I've experienced a flaw another reviewer mentioned, every now and then the mouse will jitter, and the sensor seems to be blocked or something, this can be annoying, but is very rare.
Still a great mouse and well worth the price
EDIT: 10 months
Again, still happy with the mouse, The flaw I mentioned before barely comes up and is normally sorted by shaking the mouse around a bit. After a year of use, the slippy bit on the bottom, to make the mouse glide smoothly is starting to peel a bit. Glue would probably fix this but it is a hassle. However the mouse is just as good as before, pretty much no problems over the past few months. I still believe it deserves a 5 star rating. Great mouse.
EDIT: 19 months
A year and a bit has passed, and unfortunately my mouse is dying. It was pretty awesome but now the mouse constantly jitters and doesn't move properly. The button to switch the colour of the mouse doesn't work any more, the DPI lights flicker sometimes and the mouse is almost unusable. However, I feel for the price I paid it was still a great mouse. On a side note, there was a replacement slippy bit in the box that came with the mouse from my earlier problem.
Overall, I am very pleased with this mouse, although disappointed that it would die after just under 2 years of use. Still worthy of 5 stars though.
The benefits are the extra buttons, which I haven't messed about with yet but straight out of the box take you forwards and backwards through pages on the internet which is 90% of my work. Admittedly though, the rear button is slightly difficult to operate, mainly because I have rather large hands, but no great hardship. The buttons on top of the mouse speed up and slow down the cursors movement across the screen, which again is very handy for work.
My favourite benefit, whilst only a minor plus is still worthy of note. The wheel is virtually silent!
All in all I was pleasantly surprised with what I got for the money.
