The mouse itself is a good build, feels solid, albeit a little light for a lot of gamers who like a heavier mouse.
The mouse features 3 levels of DPI, though there is no way to tell which one without moving the mouse to see how sensitive it is.
It's comfortable to use for extended periods, and it's pretty damn accurate.
Overall, I would recommend this as a competitive level backup mouse (Which, trust me, you need to have - Breaking mice in middle of tournament = not fun)
+Hardware DPI switch
-Might be a bit light for some players
-Not enough buttons if you're an MMO player or rely on macros.
However I can honestly say this mouse is superb for £10 and A LOT better than the M6800. The buttons are nice to press and the scroll wheel has a nice notched feel to it when you scroll. The DPI button is really useful and lets you cycle through 3 modes: 1600dpi, 800dpi and 400dpi. The mouse is very precise and tracks really well on all 3 modes. Even when moving the mouse really quickly in games, say for a flick shot or quickly turning around, the mouse tracks flawlessly... something that couldn't be said for the M6800 optical version which would send the mouse pointer all over the place when you moved it faster than normal speed.
The M6880 also has a really nice weight to it with the centre of gravity lying right in the middle of the mouse, combining this with a great shape and rubber grips for your thumb and little finger it really is quite a comfortable and easy to hold mouse.
I'd also like to say that I haven't run into any problems that other people have been complaining about such as mouse buttons 4 + 5 not working in games and holding left and right click together changing DPI mode. If you buy this mouse and run into either of those problems, RETURN IT BECAUSE IT IS OBVIOUSLY FAULTY. On the packaging of this mouse it does say M6880 REV. 2.0 (meaning this is revision 2), I suspect that the problems people were having was with revision 1.0 only as I cannot find any fault with this version 2.0.
This mouse is superb and performs like a mouse 2, 3 or even 4 times it's price.

3 levels of DPI; this tends to reset at reboot but easy to switch, just press the button - I find the 2nd/middle setting to be perfect for most if not all situations.
Very accurate and responsive - works a bit better on a mousepad but still great on other surfaces
No annoying LED in the bottom - I didn't realise this at first as I've not bought a mouse in years, maybe it's the standard now or something but yeah, there's no LED with the laser on the bottom so it's great if you don't want something that illuminates half the room at night.
Back and forward buttons are nice, and yes you can use them as key binds in games - I can use them in WoW like any other button, for example.
Nice scroll wheel
I think I saw someone say they were accidentally hitting the DPI button when resting their hand or using the mouse wheel - I haven't managed to do this even once, it's very well designed to avoid this.
Pro or con:
As other reviewers have said, it's very light weight - this may be nice for some and irritating for others. I personally like it.
It's smaller than it looks in the pictures; if you have big hands like me then you may find yourself making claw shapes a lot but it's comfortable enough to compensate for that. Obviously if you have small hands then this is a pro.
I ultimately chose this mouse because it seemed as though this one was the last stop before the £20+ ones and the M6900 has LEDs on it which would drive me insane at night. Overall a great mouse, feels as though it's worth more than £10.
This mouse fits my small hand very well. I have slightly long fingers compared to the rest of my hand, but the click area for the two main buttons is wide, and will work for short fingers too.
The scroll wheel is alright. Does not have side-scrolling. The DPI button is a little in the way, I think. I might press it by accident.
There is a layer of rubber on each side of the mouse, where your thumb and two right-most fingers would naturally fit. I think that helps for grip.
The plastic the buttons are made out of is possibly ABS mixed with PET. It picks up sweat easily and doesn't transfer heat from your hand away from it. I don't think it will last very long if it is not taken care of, and will definitely break in transit or in a place like a school.
Otherwise, the mouse seems sturdy and fairly accurate. Decent for the price. Not suitable for left handed people. I'll come back in 4 months to say if the buttons lasted.
This mouse seems solid for any application, not just gaming. I bought it because "gaming" sometimes indicates "not scrap". :)
edit: After some usage, I'm coming back to edit this review... The mouse seems to make creaking noises that indicate the plastic is flimsy or is becoming fatigued quickly. It does this when I shift the weight of my hand over the mouse closer to the middle. As I said, it is ABS, maybe its shape changed a little when the sun shone through my window..?
edit2: Now I've had this mouse for five months. It seems to be collecting dust in some of the nooks where the different pieces of plastic meet.Read more ›

Fast delivery, thanks. I chose this as a large mouse for my large hands; not for its extra gaming features. Read morePublished 19 months ago by Amazon Customer
