This here is another album (metalcore/melodic death metal) which features outstanding songs. this is one of those albums where every song is amazing and you definitely feel you got your moneys worth as youll find yourself listening to it over and over

This is the first I have ever heard of this artist, and recommended them. They are impressive, especially with the song Photographs. They have a distinct way of performing music, and their songs can be easily recognised due to the atmosphere they present. The album was overall quite good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect marriage of melody and aggression. 18 Feb. 2013
By Ironminkee - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
In the landscape of American metal, I have found very few bands that have crossover potential but still retain their core elements. Dreamshade accomplishes this on Gift of Life. I find more band across the ocean have surprised me to no end. Like Dead by April, melody seems to be the driving factor throughout the album. My only conclusion would be this, if Soilwork decided to make a pop album, this would be it. The singer sounds a bit like Bjorn "Speed" Strid, which is a good thing, but has a great voice to step into his own. The guitar work - excellent (tasteful and for the song), Bass - Excellent (personally I would have liked a little louder mix), drums - excellent (tasteful cymbal work and marathon feet). There is an ambient element that ties in bands like Periphery and Soilwork. If you like pop, but want a hard edge, I can't recommend this band enough. Manly metal with a pop side that stays manly.
5.0 out of 5 stars Melodic Swedish Metal 4 Oct. 2013

This is a great album, if you are into melodic Swedish metal. It reminds me of earlier Soilwork and bands like that. Their first album is good too but no melodic singing. I like both styles and albums the same for different reasons. You'll be lucky to find this album for less than $15 since it's an import but it's worth it.
5.0 out of 5 stars A Badass Album 11 Sept. 2014

This album is just as good as Dreamshade's earlier album "What Silence Hides" if not better. I'd highly recommend you check both of Dreamshade's albums out. They will not disappoint.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Album 3 Jan. 2014

can't wait to hear more from these guys. If you like your metalcore with good hooky choruses (like Killswitch Engage, Amity Affliction, Erra, etc), then you'll like these guys.

5.0 out of 5 stars Take note new aspiring metal musicians....this is how it is done 15 April 2013

Not going to make this long winded....

Metal bands have kind of been sucking lately. It's like we are going back to the "nu-metal" phase. ie dropped guitar tuning and heavy/thick rhythm riffs

This band does this, but sparsely (as it should be done) and fills the rest with AWESOME leads and licks that are almost otherworldy...until you remember that this is how guitarists used to play.

The singer sounds like Soilwork's singer, but more honed sound. The drums are fantastic and so are the samples

I wish they had a lil bit more singing melodic parts, been there weren't few either.

Great album if you like old-school Killswitch, Soilwork, In Flames, Sonic Syndicate
