Alexa is rushed to hospital with a burst appendix and while recovering from the surgery she realises much to her horror that things have changed and she has a certain "gift" that she did not posses before. She is confused and scared of what is happening to her and tries to dismiss what is happening to her as the strong drugs that have been given to her after her surgery. Of course very quickly she realises this is not the case - what she has no one can steal; this gift his hers and it owns her completely and changes her life.
I loved the characters in this book Alexa or Lexi as she likes to be called comes across exactly as she seems - a sixteen year old girl, immature at times but just starting to bloom into adulthood when this literally takes over her life and changes everything.
Jude I loved almost instantly. You know he's a bad boy but underneath all the rough exterior is beating a heart somewhere in there, we just have to find it and it's peaking out already at stages in this book. Arrogant and so sure of himself what part does he have to play in Lexi's future ?
This book is compelling, addictive and just full of suprises that are all consuming when you read it. This is just part one and yep it ended on a cliffy and the first thing I did when I finished this book was to pre-order The Curse the second installment of this amazing story - I literally cannot wait to read this and find out more about Alexa and her "gift".
A really really good read !!!
It is easy to read, no complex language or sentence structures. I felt that the "hidden" sexual attraction between the characters was unnecessary, although if I read the subsequent parts of the story it may transpire that it was needed. So far it does not add anything good UTI either to the story.
I think it would be suitable for teenagers as the main character is a teenage girl. It would also be ok for an easy summer holiday read, although a little frustrating when you get to the end and the story arc of the main character has not been concluded.
An emergency operation leads to a teenage girl having psychic visions. Can she ever tell anyone? The gift leads her into a sinister and disturbing situation, with a violent (though at times charismatic) captor. Will she ever escape? It doesn't look very likely, but .... a cliff-hanger finish to encourage you to read book 2 - very annoying and irritating.

Great for a teen read but didn't think it was developed enough for an adult...Read more
