Although it only took a couple of hours to read this book, it was a morning well spent in the company of James and Bob. Not to mention Belle who is an important part of both their lives.

But I feel a particular vote of thanks goes to Garry Jenkins, (the co-writer) without whom I think these books would not have been written, or at least would not have been so readable. The Bob books may be easy to read but this style of writing is difficult to achieve; Garry has drawn out the story from James and written it in such a way that it is as if James is speaking to us directly and sometimes I can see Bob's antics as clearly as if I were watching a movie.

This book particularly brings home how hard life is for those folk who are homeless and destitute, the invisible and the rejected. James wanted to highlight that side of his life to encourage his audience to have sympathy and generosity to those less fortunate than ourselves, to those who do not have a friend like the Street cat named Bob.

PS We went to a signing session for this book in Nottingham and, although the queue was over two hours long, and James had to meet over two hundred people, he remained polite and friendly to each of us; Bob, secure in James's company slept through the whole event! Our copy now has James's signature, personalised to us, and with a paw stamp from Bob.

With all of James`s books, his stories and experiences keep people informed and educated about the hardships faced by the most vulnerable in society. Even when he had nothing. Everyone could learn from him and the world would be a better place.

This book is a very emotional & thought provoking insight into the lives of James and his faithful cat Bob as they face another Christmas together with hardly any money. As with all James Bowen's books it grabs your attention from the start as he describes how his financial worries escalate in a freezing cold lead up to Christmas. This book is the best Christmas gift of all for anyone who reads it as it highlights so well what the real meaning of Christmas should be. A truly heart warming emotional book which everyone should read.

This is the story on par with rags to riches. Its about a young man born in UK having been taken to Australia and returned and having to make a life for himself. In doing this in London where had lived lots of Homeless around and life is good if you have a job. Which James didnt. He fell into drugs due to not having home and anyone to lend a hand .. He had family in London but it hadnt worked out after he came back to London. So the streets became his home. Then one day a lovely kitten came into his life and the story continues about their life together. you need to read all the books not just this one ..But its a good read for any animal lover or as a book of James life which includes Bob who helped shape his life. Its a feel good book.If you enjoy this please join us our group on face book and try and meet the real Bob and James

I really enjoyed reading this book having already read James Bowen's other books about his life with Bob. I love a true success story and was particularly intrigued by the fact that both saved each other's lives and are inseparable. Bob is certainly an extraordinary cat who has a great character and who by just being there gave James the strength and determination to find his way through a very bad time in his life and to then go on and become successful by writing it all down. These are great books and I have thoroughly enjoyed reading them all. Thank you James, please write more about you and Bob.
