Like all the other DVDs in this series this is a body pump style advanced complete body workout with high reps. This workout is not for the faint hearted. Even though it does include a modifier who does not use a step and show different exercises for people with weak wrists or shoulder problems, you do need to have some exercise history to survive the full hour. You will definitely feel this the next day.
However, Jari emphasises the hardwork from the beginning and keeps you motivated with constant encouragement and affirmation throughout. The music is club -style specifically chosen to motivate and the beat help you with cadence.
This video is subtitled 'to the Core' because unlike the others in the series it contains compound exercises that challenge your core to link the upper and lower body and to provide stability.
The warm-up consists of using light weight to preview some of the moves that will be used during the workout and some light stretching.
Each section is previewed with an clear demonstration of form and alignment of the upcoming exercise and an explanation of the muscles used and the real world uses for them. For example, whilst doing a chest press you also do a pelvic bridge to also strengthen you behind and back of your legs and a shoulder press done whilst doing a basic up-down on a step. This dvd is only effective if you are a beginner, or have heavy weights. Still a good workout though.Published on 1 Feb. 2010 by Hope
