Cats just aren't going to go away forever unless you purchase a rifle. This does however stop them (at least it stops the old tomcat pooping in our back garden gravel) for up-to a week before you need to apply more or the cat will come back as the scent is gone.
It smells so they don't like it and the gel crystals keep some of that odor longer than other solutions. It's expensive to keep using this. I've switched to using used coffee grinds (free from most coffee shops if you ask) which seems to work just as well! I'm also going to purchase a super soaker. Get them with one of those and they'll stay away for longer than anything else.
