"It is like a Dr Who adventure, inspiring curiosity and amazement. It makes a case for the relevance and fascination of physics, and for the importance of scientists and eco-warriors working together to save the planet. With a happy circularity, the plot depends on a recent discovery: Hawking Radiation, the leaking of particles out of black holes until they destroy themselves" (The Sunday Times)
"Gripping, informative and funny" (The Bookseller)
"A true beginner's guide to A Brief History of Time" (Publishers Weekly)
"A delightful book for young readers" (Independent)
"George's Secret Key to the Universe is a novel that anyone who devoured Captain Underpants a year or two ago will appreciate" (LA Times)
The first in the global smash-hit George series written by Lucy Hawking and her father, Professor Stephen Hawking. Out-of-this-universe space adventures, plus exclusive, real-life information from the world's leading scientists - including Professor Hawking himself. Initially I thought this would be a good book for my oldest (6) to read with his Dad as they're both avid star gazers, however we have ended up reading this as a family at breakfast and after dinner. My 4 yr old finds the antics of Freddy quite amusing. Quite simply, the book is gripping and teaches you facts in a very fun way. Looking forward to carrying on with this book and then the sequels.
A separate copy sent to my son's best friend (also 6).
