I sent this to a friend for Christmas, and she loved it. I personally get very tired of hearing about how perfect we're all supposed to look if we ever want to be in a satisfying relationship. Kids see this message all the time on magazine covers in the grocery store, on television commercials...why not give them a book that helps cancel out the message a little bit? The book doesn't promote unhealthiness or anything like that; it just shows that the two monkeys have wrong perceptions of their bodies. George isn't fat--he's strong. Sylvia isn't the wrong shape--she's just small and slim. It just so happens that even in the choice of "problems" the monkeys have, the girl ends up being the thin one and the guy is the "strong" one, but don't worry, George definitely isn't a muscle-monkey and Sylvia is just a petite, normal, healthy-looking monkey.
The pictures are cute and colorful, too. :-)
