If you call two rashers of bacon 2 portions, then it certainly is a 2 portion grill, however I would say it is a pretty small one person grill.
Size apart, the only down side is the lack of movement in the hinges. If you want to grill anything thicker than a couple of rashers you will be forever turning it over because the back end (nearest the hinge)cooks both sides and the front part only cooks the underside due to the lid being unable to sit flat
The grill is indeed small, and light, but surprisingly easy to work with as the top lid never gets as hot as the instructional manual warns you that it will, so keeping an eye on what's cooking is very easy. The articulated hinge which is supposed to lift to cover the food parallel to the base hasn't quite worked for me yet, as I haven't found food thin enough for this to work properly. So meantime I move things round during cooking quite a lot to achieve an even result.
It does a brilliant job on the lunchtime toastie!
Altogether a brilliant piece of kit for under £20!
It heat up quickly, so the only problem I've found is that it heats the top a lot more then the bottom and sometimes you need to flip the food to cook properly on both sides, not much an issue.
I still recommend this grill for £15 delivered, very good value!
It takes 1 whole chicken breast cut in half.
I'm using it at work, and it really does the job properly =)
I would highly reccomend this if you are just cooking for yourself but if cooking for more than one person u might struggle so go for a bigger version.
