The Fitness Band that Moves at the Pace of YOUR Life
Whatever your level of fitness, you already know the active steps you take now can improve your overall wellness today, tomorrow and well into your future. And while it seems simple to get out of that chair more often and move, making it stick is another matter. That's where Garmin vivofit can turn good intentions into lifelong habits. It's the only fitness band that greets you with a personalised daily goal, tracks your progress and reminds you when it's time to move.
Personalised Daily Goals
vivofit learns your current activity level, then assigns an attainable daily goal. As you meet your milestones, vivofit will adjust your goal for the next day, gradually nudging you toward a healthier lifestyle. At Garmin Connect, our free online fitness community, you can earn virtual badges and view your progress.
Tells Time and "Time to Move"
Research shows prolonged periods of inactivity such as sitting at a desk decreases your body's production of fat-burning enzymes. You can reverse that effect by taking frequent, short walk breaks throughout your day. And while you might lose track of time and forget to move, vivofit knows. A red move bar appears on the display after 1 hour of inactivity and builds when you've been sitting too long. Just walk for a couple of minutes to reset the move bar.
When you're ready to take the next steps toward better health, vivofit has additional features to keep you motivated. Use a heart rate monitor with vivofit to record your heart rate data and get more accurate calorie burn information for any fitness activity, such as a run or a session at the gym. For detailed calorie tracking, you can create an account at MyFitnessPal and link it to your Garmin Connect account. This allows you to compare calories consumed to your total calories burned, which vivofit records throughout the day. Also at Garmin Connect, you can join online challenges with other vivofit users or start your own competition with friends to compete for virtual badges and bragging rights.
vivofit follows your progress 24/7, and it can stay on for more than a year without a battery change. Set the sleep mode when you go to bed and vivofit will monitor your rest. At Garmin Connect, you can see your total sleep hours as well as periods of movement and restful sleep. The vivofit band is water-resistant, so you can shower or get caught in the rain, worry-free.
With the touch of one button, you can wirelessly sync vivofit with Garmin Connect to see a complete picture of your progress, join online challenges and earn virtual badges for extra motivation. You can access our free online community from your computer or on your compatible mobile device with the Garmin Connect Mobile app.

Top Customer Reviews
1) it is also a watch (my friend who has a fitbit has to wear two things on her wrist)
2) it doesn't need charging
3) it syncs with my fitness pal (an app for monitoring your food)
4) you can get it wet (although I choose to take it off in the shower)
5) the strap is secure (I was concerned reading other reviews, but Garmin have added a piece of strap to prevent it falling off)
6) the step counter is as accurate as my friend's fitbit
7) syncing with my phone takes 8 seconds (turning your phone off then on after the initial connection between Garmin and phone helps- you don't need to do it again)
8) the Garmin screen tells you time, date, steps, distance and calories. Fitbit requires you to look at your phone
9) overall I have no complaints. It does what I want. Very pleased with my purchase!
I do miss the silent alarm and the Flex, which was smaller, could at a glance be mistaken for a charity band.
I found the app didn't work too well on my Ipad and weekly reports weren't being complete but I reported this to the Garmin Connect people and, amazingly, they provided a software update within a week. So, 5 stars for after sales service there. They also suggested that they were open to suggestions as to how the software could be improved and, based on their performance so far, I have no doubts that I will be seeing further improvements in the future.
Well done Garmin!
A daily goal is set for steps and from what I've noticed in the few days I've been wearing it, if you pass your goal then the next day it will be increased.
Inactivity is measured by a broken red bar on the top of the display, the first bar counts as 1 hour then four smaller bars measure 15 minute increments, handy visual notification to basically say get up and walk around.
I find it to be quite accurate and it sits comfortable on the wrist. The sleep tracker in my opinion is excellent, tells me how much of a restless or relaxed sleep I've had and how long I've been in the land of nod.
The sync function between vivo and phone is very quick and handy. The badge rewards are also a very nice touch, gives that bit more push to do more in the day.
Overall thought, brilliant device for the not so active that need a little motivation to do more. Highly recommend this product.
I like that you can count up to your goal or down. I prefer counting down it seems more motivational. Online you can complete in challenges and get useful insights.
I also love that it has the date and time on it, meaning it can be used just as watch. there is also a calorie counter
