Tells Time and Time to Move
Research shows prolonged durations of inactivity such as sitting at a desk decreases your body’s production of fat-burning enzymes. You can reverse that effect by taking frequent, short walk breaks throughout your day. A red move bar appears on the display after one hour of inactivity and builds when you’ve been sitting too long. Just walk for a couple of minutes to reset the move bar.
Garmin vívofit follows your progress 24/7 and it can stay on for more than a year without a battery change. Set the sleep mode when you go to bed and vívofit will monitor your rest. At Garmin Connect, you can see your total sleep hours as well as durations of movement and restful sleep. Top customer reviews
The batteries lasted 18 months, but after purchasing new ones and petroleum jelly (!) mine would no longer work. Was very surprised by poor customer service from Garmin. Incredibly convoluted & costly process to get a repair or replacement. Bought a new tracker instead it was easier. Hence the poor review.
Also it counts steps while you are driving, only recently discovered that!
The catch does come undone sometimes at awkward moments, but as long as you're careful putting on coats or whatever, you shouldn't lose it.
It does register some motions, like shaking your arm, as steps, which skews the results slightly, but come on, as long as you're broadly in the zone and over your step count, it doesn't matter.
Heart rate monitor is really good as well.
The only thing that would make this ideal is a stopwatch.
