Tells Time and Time to Move
Research shows prolonged durations of inactivity such as sitting at a desk decreases your body’s production of fat-burning enzymes. You can reverse that effect by taking frequent, short walk breaks throughout your day. A red move bar appears on the display after one hour of inactivity and builds when you’ve been sitting too long. Just walk for a couple of minutes to reset the move bar.
Garmin vívofit follows your progress 24/7 and it can stay on for more than a year without a battery change. Set the sleep mode when you go to bed and vívofit will monitor your rest. At Garmin Connect, you can see your total sleep hours as well as durations of movement and restful sleep. Update - The watch is such good value that I am going to be getting my wife one as well.
The strap for the garmin however is awful. The end of my strap has snapped off and the keeper that stops it from falling off my wrist broke in two, the price to replace that one small tube of plastic is in my opinion, ridiculous. The strap itself has slowly been cracking in places and took only a few days to start showing staining in the edges from continuous contact with me or my clothes. I love the teal coloured strap but I would say if you don't want it to look grubby go for a dark coloured band. I take it off when I'm in the shower or when I'm washing dishes but otherwise I've not subjected it to any massive wear and tear so I'm really disappointed in the band itself, especially as I've only had it maybe eight months. If I want a proper replacement it'll cost me another £10 from garmin as I don't want to risk a reaction to cheaper bands. So if you want a really simple tracker i would recommend it but beware the strap. I'm now paranoid I'm going to lose it so I'll have to buy a new band and keeper, if it wasn't for that issue I'd have given it full stars.
So mixed feelings - this is my second Garmin branded product that I didn't particularly love (FYI - some time ago I gave away my new Garmin satnav after a week of frustration, and bought a new TomTom)
