A Multisport GPS Watch with Running Dynamics and Connected Features
Introducing the Garmin Forerunner 920XT - a multisport GPS watch with advanced running dynamics that's qualified to take elite athletes training to the next level.
Get the stats but also keep in touch with smart notifications for email, texts and more on your watch as well as live tracking and social media sharing (when paired with a compatible smart phone).
It’s Garmin’s most advanced all-in-one solution for triathletes and multisport athletes.
Failure Is Not An Option
In The Water
Designed for open water and pool swimming, Forerunner 920XT measures every stroke and metre of your workouts and offers enhanced training capabilities. The sleek new design makes it wet suit-friendly and about 15 per cent lighter than its predecessor, the 910XT model.
On The Bike
The Forerunner 920XT is compatible with sensors such as speed, cadence, heart rate and power meter - to provide advanced training capabilities. In addition to GPS, it can also receive GLONASS signals for improved accuracy.
On The Run
The Forerunner 920XT can help you train for optimal running form by reporting running dynamics data when used with the HRM-Run monitor. It also has a metronome with vibe and audible alerts to guide your cadence training. For ultra runners, it offers an UltraTrac mode that turns GPS off at certain intervals, extending battery life for up to 40 hours.
Failure Is Not An Option
Whether you’re training at the pool or out in the open water, Forerunner 920XT captures detailed swim metrics, including distance, pace, stroke count, stroke rate and SWOLF score. The drill logging feature allows you to easily log swim drills and kick sets at the pool, and the 2 types of rest timers keep you pushing off the wall on time. Use time alerts to help you hold your pace, or distance alerts to let you know when a set is over. There are even alerts for calories and stroke rate.
Crank Up Your Training
The Forerunner 920XT is compatible with sensors such as speed, cadence (sold separately) and heart rate (included) to provide advanced training capabilities for your cycling workouts. It can also display power metrics when paired with ANT+ power meters, including the Garmin Vector line of single and dual-sensing pedal options. If you train with heart rate and a power meter, Forerunner 920XT can derive your VO2 max estimate for cycling to help monitor changes in your fitness. The colour gauge shows how you rank compared to other athletes in your age group. Another feature that lets you see how you measure up to others is Garmin Connect segments. Once your ride’s done and uploaded to Garmin Connect, you can see where you stand on the segment leaderboard.
Perfect Your Running Form
The Forerunner 920XT comes with running dynamics data. Based on the same technology available in Garmin’s Forerunner 620 and fēnix 2, the Forerunner 920XT helps you train for optimal running form when used with the HRM-Run monitor. This pairing allows the Forerunner 920XT to report your cadence (total steps per minute), vertical oscillation (amount of 'bounce' in your step) and ground contact time (how much time your foot spends on the ground during each step). The Forerunner 920XT also has a metronome feature with vibe and audible alerts to guide your cadence training.

The watch has been used for every run/ride I have done since its purchase and although I ran with my old watch on my opposite wrist for the first few weeks so I could make sure everything was accurate I was pleased to retire my old watch.
I cannot recommend this watch more especially if your into multi sport events like me. Its almost faultless with the exception that it struggles in the swimming pool in counting laps so I have to rely on the time rather than the distance. This is a real shame and I cannot understand why it struggles so much as I've tried different strokes and speeds and yet it is the same.
All in all though its just what you need and it looks so good on your wrist and I am quite a fan of watches. It doesn't exactly look amiss when worn with a suit or blazer.
If you're into your stats figures and achievements within your sport....be it Running, Swimming, Cycling, Workouts Tri's ETC ETC this definitely for you. Accuarate, easy to read display, loads of accessories and looks good!
It's also a daily activity tracker! Connects to your phone and turns into a smart watch too!
Finally, Garmin have a watch that is easy to use. No more annoying bevel or touchscreen, just big, easy-to-access buttons. The screen is clear and everything is intuitive. It finds the GPS signal faster and I have so much more confidence that it will be waterproof. If feels sturdy but is incredibly light. I love the wifi automatic upload, which just uploads your activities to Connect without doing anything. My phone isn't compatible with the Bluetooth function but upgrading soon. Battery life is also better. These are simple things but make a big difference - even that it is easy to save the exercise as soon as you finish.
Like others, I have had a dabble with the running analytics (e.g. Cadence) - interesting and I know a bit more about running mechanics as a result but don't use it often.
On the wrist, it is a little big but you don't really notice it is there as it is contoured nicely and so lightweight.
This is perfect, it shows your pace, lap times (1mile/ minutes) race time predictions (very good) you can download maps to it, even virtual race partner. I particularly like the pace alerts as I found I was running way quicker than I should be, I was only managing 2miles before i had to stop now I'm on 5miles and only just starting my 2nd week :)
The readouts you get from the run are very good (smartphone app used) although some are but mind boggling for the average runner like me :) I'd highly recommend this lightweight watch can't fault it.
What can I say i am highly disappointed as I am on tour in Iraq with a watch I now have to put in my pocket and no HRM.
Yours Dr. D J Jones.
