Spending my hard earned cash - seemed to be the inspiration that I needed. Now I've got out and have started running again.
Heart sensor didn't seem to work at first, so I google'd it and found the explanation. It doesn't work on dry skin, so I splashed some water on my chest and now its fine.
Spent ages poring over the data from my runs - You can use the Garmin sports center software that comes with the device and gives you some nice looking graphs, or 'Sport Tracks' which is a free download and integrates with Google maps. I use both side by side.
Not much more that I can say. It does what its supposed to. It looks a bit big, but its very light and you don't notice the size when your running. It has never lost the satellite signal once.
In summary - I'm very pleased with the watch. Don't expect it to do the hard work for you, but if your a gadget lover like me, it helps.
I don't like the plastic strap. Although it's thick, it's of a type that I've had on watches before that have always broken after a couple of years. I recommend getting a Forerunner 301 replacement strap and fitting that instead.
The battery life is less than the 301, but only marginally. It's not enough for a long-distance walk or run over an entire weekend or longer.
