I bought the Garmin 20 to replace an Edge 200 I have had for some years during which time it behaved perfectly. But lately, it started having blank moments. As the 200 is no longer available I chose the 20 and now glad I did. I got a surprise on unpacking it as it seems so small compared to the 200. Setting it up was a breeze as it is simple to understand using the Quick set up instructions. So far it is doing everything it is supposed to and as I already have GarminConnect for the 200 it is their for the 20 and in my case, the mounting is the same as the 200 so just clicked it straight on and away. Nice little bike computer and recommended to begin using bike computers.

What a great entry level bicycle GPS. I like my technology intuitive and while virtually none ever is this is pretty close to it. Charge it, watch a couple
of videos from YouTube about how to start it up (if you are a technophobe), put it on your bike and then enjoy being able to glance at MPH, distance covered, and duration of ride (there are other screens too, including one that enables you to download circuits - like a very low level sat nav. The green size is like that of a large watch but I found it easy to read on a bike). Once done and stopped, upload to the Garmin site (you need to make an account, no cost) and you can share it with strava. I've only used it once yet on a 20+ mile ride but am very pleased I bought it. If you can get it for under £100 I think it is excellent value.

The hardware is fine - small design, relatively easy to navigate and clips onto the bike using the supplied straps. The Garmin software though is absolutely useless. The combination of Garmin Express and Garmin Connect and the USB connection between the device and the laptop (in my case a mac) just doesn't work reliably enough. I managed to download two courses on separate occasions - with no problem. I then deleted one of the courses (using the device) and now there is no way I can load any other course. And before you ask, I have a degree in Computer Science. I've removed Garmin Express (including all of the hidden preferences, cache and library files). I've cleared the browser cache. Used a different browser, reset the device, rebooted the mac, deleted the Garmin user account, deleted the Garmin device from Connect, tried to export multiple other file formats and converted them to .gpx. I've done everything. The forums are full of other people moaning about the software - and errors such as mine 'Some files could not be sent to your device ... courses'. The big issue here is that the device is effectively bricked. There is no way of doing a complete factory reset on the device - and this is a shame as I believe this is where the issue lies. It is possible that these issues do not occur when using a Windows laptop - but quite frankly I would steer clear unless you enjoy the prospect of debugging someone else's product.

Once set up it works really well. Clear instrument, easy to fit. Much better arrangement than a wireless bike computer. No need to spend money on the more expensive bluetooth one, just take this off the bike, plug it in the computer and, hey presto, data is uploaded to Strava immediately. Great product for the price. Also no need to carry my phone around just for Strava, so can use another one for emergencies.

Love this little gadget. I’ve been using it for nearly 2 years and it’s perfect for me. I didn’t want to wear a smart watch paired to a phone or one of the bigger gps watch-type computers, so although a heart rate sensor would be nice for the readout on the graphs, I’m fully aware when the old ticker’s going at a good pace in real time and I can do without- rather than compromise the self-contained nature of the unit.
I’ve marked it down one point for ease of use because the data field pages are fiddly to change on the move manually and the auto-scrolling never seems to be perfect despite a choice of slow, medium and fast. It would be good to be able to customise the data fields. The other niggle is the bespoke charging cable which is £20 to replace or buy a spare! £20!! What’s wrong with micro USB?
I’d also be interested in buying a wrist strap for carrying it on walks but I’ve not been able to find one. Saying that it still seems to work ok in the top compartment of a rucksack.

It's good for just riding but struggles with more complex tasks. It will not sync courses and it does not track GPS accurately and can take a long time to connect. Sent it back.
