GPS Watch Approach S6 - slim, lightweight, feature-packed hi-resolution color touchscreen GPS golf watch with first-of-its-kind swing metrics. Dedicated CourseView button & PinPointer Blind Shot Assistance The Garmin Approach S6 GPS Watch features full-color course views for more than 39,000 international courses and a dedicated CourseView button to get you to the second shot view quickly. Preview doglegs, traps and water hazards and pin positioning from wherever you are on the course, or clubhouse. The PinPointer blind shot assistance feature - previously only available in Garmins top-of-the-line handhelds - gives you a directional arrow to the green. Now you can know where to line up your shot, even if you are in the woods or deep in a bunker. Handicap Scoring Options The Garmin Approach S6 GPS Watch has handicap scoring options for individual holes, player's local handicap or index/slope method. Scoring options include Stroke play and Stableford, and you can save, review, share and print scorecards from your computer. Plus, when you hit a big one you can see how far it went with the Measure Shot feature. Rugged & Long Lasting The Garmin Approach S6 GPS Watch is rugged and water rated to 5 ATM (50 meters), it displays yardages to the front, back and middle of greens on a high-resolution, glove-friendly color touchscreen. And, it lets you manually position pins, get distances to doglegs and layups, customize yardage points (mark traps and hazards) and print digital scorecards for Stroke play and Stableford. Increasing the performance of this watch is the fact that the S6 features more battery life for longer play or more rounds. Easily get in a weekend of GPS golf with up to 10 hours in full GPS and up to 20 weeks, depending on mode, before the lithium-ion battery needs to be recharged.

Firstly, this S6, when out on the course, ends each hole by asking you to input your score. I don't want to use that feature. I want it to seamlessly move to the next hole. That is what the S2 does. Now I have to keep pressing the 'Back' button to see the yardages for the next hole. I contacted Garmin to see if there was any setting I could change but there isn't.
Secondly, the display is much duller than the S2. Unless there is bright sunlight i find it quite difficult to read.
The course view looks great in the sales info, however it is nowhere near as bright and as hi-res in real life. Additionally, actually using your finger to move on to a course position with a 1 inch screen is near impossible. I have been trying and practicing for several weeks now and still cannot master it.
The sales guff also promises longer battery life. More nonsense. It is exactly the same as the S2.
I can't really send it back because it isn't faulty, but if disappointment could be physically measured, this would be of Everest proportions. It cost £279 pounds. Not worth it. Even a little bit.
I have been pleased with all my previous Garmin purchases for my car as well as golf, but this is a rip off if truth be told. Very angry.
Product support Garmin UK had 10 weeks to respond to my queries and fix faults. After emails during the first two weeks advising me to update software (automatic on syncing this watch) and delete two thirds of records they failed to reply to any other communications. I have returned the watch as unfit for purpose and requested a full refund
