The story revolves around three main characters Eden, Lennox and Violet, Eden's sister. This was a love triangle of sorts but it is not to be mistaken for a romance novel because it was just so much more, so much more of a story of addiction and the destruction and the truths that it brought forth. All three had the common goal of wanting to be loved but the sacrifices and redemption could be too big of a price to pay for happiness. We see so many real life flaws being portrayed by each character, the hurt, the pain, the suffering, the regret, the heartless and selfish behaviours. When we finally see a glimmer of light for hope and forgiveness from souls lost and found, we have to stop and think how things in life could spiral so out of the realm that we have no control over them. Unhealthy "dependencies" could ruin so many lives.
Faith Andrews did an exceptional job in bringing this sensitive and difficult topic to the forefront. I applaud her for her honesty and amazing writing with this painful and emotional subject. I found this difficult to read at times because it was presented in such a real and honest way that the characters were so believable, so raw that you felt every emotion right along with them. This story was told in dual points of view from Eden and Violet and often referred to their pasts which gave us
more of an insight into their story from the beginning. It was because of this that I often had to take breaks as this story hit so close to home on so many levels.
I highly recommend this amazing story as it had to be told and appreciated as a story that could help those that are struggling with any type of addiction, illness or pain. If unconditional love is pursued and kept fighting for then perhaps it is worth it never to give up.
It had a bit of everything and it's one of those books that has the ability to resonate hard and hit home for many readers. It's very different and unlike anything I have read before. It's the first book I have read by Faith Andrews, and I will definitely be looking at the other books she has written.
The cover for this book is pure perfection! Not only is it a stunning cover, it is also perfect for the story itself, and symbolises so much about the book.
Eden and Violet's journey throughout this book is filled with heart break and struggles. The strength and the weaknesses from all of the characters involved in this story made the whole thing so raw and real.
Written in dual PoV from both Violet and Edens perspective, switching between the past and the present this book will constantly keep you on your toes and the pages turning. For me there was a lull mid way through the book - but my word, the last 10% of the book... Wow!!
I'm not giving anything away about the story line or blurb, just go in blind, and enjoy this fabulously well written story! There could be triggers for some, so do take note. But ultimately just experience this wonderful story.
It's honest and raw and will take your emotions on a crazy journey that you just have to travel on. It sucks you in. My hubby kept giving me side glances like I was crazy!
It's a story of addiction, how it takes no prisoners and has no preference on who it targets. This is not a traditional love story by any means. This book will most certainly stay with me forever. Amazing!
Faith Andrews has written a truly thought provoking, raw and gut wrenching read, this book will push you to the edge of emotional turmoil, have your heart break for the characters at the same time as getting mad with them.
This story flows really well although it took me a while to get to grips with everything going on and the change between past and present. The twists and turn mixed with all the emotions that flood over you while reading this book you will be utterly captivated until the end.
My heart broke for Eden who saw the best in everything and everyone and all that she went through. While I was never overly fond of Violet and you can see her toxic ways from the beginning she was developed well. And Lennox, what can I say? I loved his character and all the details given to him and his struggles.
This book deals with so many dark heavy topics this book is not for the faint of heart it is an amazing beautiful story.
I received an ARC for my honest review
