Dr. Norman Vincent Peale

"The Game of Life" is filled with wisdom and creative insights. That its teachings will work I know to be fact, for I've long used them myself.

I have had this book for over ten years, I still read it regularly, though written in a simple, conversational style the power of her own experience with these eternal truths is astonishing! The message conveyed is that when we listen to our inner voice we are on the right path. Life is not a struggle, unless you make it so. There is a divine plan for everyone, and thought this may sound crazy, it is clear that we have taken birth and must have a purpose. I bought this book when I was heartbroken over a love affair, and by using the power of right thinking, I got over that, and got the right relationship for me. Good luck to all who buy this gem!!

A superb book - i could hardly put it down!...
It gave me a feeling of deep calm, like I finally understood what I was missing and what I could do to set it right.
Despite the fact that Florence is obviously a very religious lady and uses biblical references a lot - you don't have to be 'religious' to read and appreciate this book - I'm certainly not and I highly recommend it!

Format: Paperback
I am constantly delighted by the elegance and grace with which the early and mid-20th century metaphysicians conveyed the eternal truths. People like Ralph Waldo Trine, Katherine Ponder, Raymond Charles Barker, Joseph Murphy and Frederick Bailes are still the best choice to read if you are serious about improving your life. And judging by this wonderful little book., Florence Scovel-Shinn takes pride of place amongst them. With a great economy of words, she makes her point and in simple language explains the benefits of right thinking and how to solve problems. The text is strewn with jewels in the form of uplifting statements and memorable affirmations. Amongst other topics, the laws of prosperity, nonresistance, karma and forgiveness are presented in a fresh way, with clear instructions on how to impress the subconscious. She covers everything that is really important in a book that one can read in a day. Of course, I recommend regular reading of this wonderful manual for living a life of joy.

This is one book you must buy. It really will change your life. It is many times better than "The Secret" and seems to have much of the material that the "Secret" experts quote. It is a very thin book; a very short book: but it is very powerful - I cant recommend it enough.

This is a religious book with lots of good affirmations. I particularly like the emphasis of non-duality: there is only good,we just may not have seen it as that yet. I wouldn't give it to someone who wasn't happy with the concept of God.

I'm buying it to give as gifts to people who will appreciate it.

Making sense of life and all the dramas and complexities it throws our way is not always easy. This book speaks like your own personal guru, guiding you through the many twists and turns in your life, and helping you make sense of it all. It gives you strength and courage to battle through and come out winning when you feel, " up against it". Lots of common sense and wisdom here. You won't be disappointed.

I was introduced to this book 15 years ago and it immediately changed my perspective on how I handle situations in my life! Put simply, they can be as simple or as difficult as you allow them to be, this book allows you the freedom to consider an easier and more thought provoking approach to how you deal with them! I wish you a wonderful read, I still can't put the book down and am eternally grateful that it found its way to me.

This is one of the most important books I've ever read concerning how to prosper in life in every way. The principles of right thinking and feeling right about something can't be overemphasised enough, and Florence Scovel-Shinn gives plenty of anecdotes from her experiences with clients to illustrate her points.

This lady is bursting with wisdom, some of which is not reiterated or emphasised enough by other authors on topics such as the Law Of Attraction. One of the things she emphasises is following one's intuition in order to follow divine clues which lead to your desired result, no matter how strange they seem to the rational mind, and the importance of being generous and giving freely or your time and money, as well as being open to receive. In other words, never let fear dictate your thoughts or actions as it will always lead to the wrong outcome, and to aim to embody your spirituality in your everyday life with right thinking or 'dharma' to keep yourself on the right track, thereby avoiding 'sin' or 'wrong thinking'.

It's written in a religous style using the Judao-Chirstian God as a philosophical basis, with references to Biblical parables. But these certainly work as psychological and symbolic models of the principles in process, and illustrate the consequences of either following the correct path of love and right thinking or the wrong path of fear and wrong thinking, leading to 'evil' or negative outcomes. But if this doesn't sit well with you it's easy to mentally substitute these words for more contemporary secular versions of God or the Divine such as 'The Universe'. I found the style inoffensive and easy to understand, and didn't hinder the delivery of the message at all.
