Unfortunately I read these books out of order – silly, I know but having heard so much about Brooks and Sasha in the two books I had read, I really was left with no choice but to rectify my mistake and read this the first book.

I have to say that despite the fact that baseball is not a huge sport over here in the UK I have fallen completely under the spell of the New York Kings and Collette West because the way she pores so much information and detail into the story means that I am completely hooked!

The book is delightful and none more so than Brooks because I read the whole thing just smiling at the mere mention of his name.

Brooks has been friends with Sasha’s brother Nate for what seems to have been his whole life and as such Sasha has always been off limits, but that doesn’t stop him from wanting more.

Life kicks Nate big time when the genetic heart abnormality that he has leaves him on the transplant list and out of the game that is the love of his life but in a bid to keep him in the team – Sasha offers the New York Kings a first – the opportunity to field the first woman in the league. It is a PR dream and never ones to shun publicity they jump at the chance.

So,as if her being Nate’s little sister wasn’t enough, she is now a team mate and it is definitely not a good idea to be having the thoughts he is having about her– Brooks really is between a rock and a hard place (get your mind out of the gutter ladies!!) but he has to find a way to make this work and to insure that the other players keep their distance.

Let me say, I didn't know anything about baseball, I live in the UK, that does make a difference I think, but.......I have learnt a lot about the game.

I was first attracted to this book by the cover, yes I know, shallow, but I think a books introduction is initially the cover being attractive the the eye of the reader. Of course, being a reviewer I also know that is not all to choosing your books to read, so I read the blurb as well!!! Not only that, I have read a previous book by this author and enjoyed it so off I went to sit and read.

As I snuggled down to start this book I had reservations, would I understand it? I'm not a sporty type. Is it a behind the scenes full of sex and romps [nothing wrong in that] but I fancied a good old read of a bit of a gritty book with some ummph in it.

My expectations and thoughts of what I might find in this baseball related read was WRONG, I was so wrong. Its MORE than that, its a STORY! It actually tells real life instances that can happen to anyone.

There was hints of angst, cheering from me and also sadness. No one likes to see someone be struck down in ill health and spoil their ambitions in life, this is what happened in this book.

I also met Shasha. Her brother Kyle has been struck down with illness, he needs a heart transplant, Shash steps up in the baseball team in place of her ill brother, she wants to do good for him. But they've never had a female amongst them involved in that side of the sport! wooo hold on a god dam minute!!! The other fella Brooks, oh he's not happy at all..............we see how he struggles, but then something happens where he needs to change his mind.

Of course, this brings Shasha and Brooks together a lot.

I really loved this story line and I am glad I took the chance to read this, NEVER judge a book by its cover [in this case, it was a really great cover :-) and NEVER judge a book by its title. Brilliant satisfying read.

This was my first baseball romance, but it definitely won’t be my last. As a matter of fact, I’m looking forward to reading the first book in the series and can’t wait for the next one to be released.
Game Changer is an unusual story, because I don’t know if in real life something like this could really happen. But this is what made it so interesting!
I loved the heroine, Sasha Roberts. I was rooting for her throughout the story and cheered for her. She’s such a strong woman, but at the same time she has her weak moments when she thinks she’s going to fail.
That’s when Brooks steps in.
Aw, Brooks. I love him! He’s so cute, sexy, strong and hopelessly in love with Sasha. At times I wanted to hug him – he was so sweet and the perfect book boyfriend.
There are some great side characters and I can’t wait to read Chase’s story (book one).
There’s a lot happening throughout the book and the author definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very end.
I would recommend this book to lovers of sports romance, clean romance and baseball fans. But don’t worry: even if you don’t know much about baseball, you’ll enjoy this book all the same because the chemistry between Sasha and Brooks will make up for your lack of knowledge. :)
