Sadly, several of these people have died, but their reports are interesting nevertheless. I hadn't realised that this was book to tie in with a long-gone TV series, but it works well as a stand along product. If you like rail travel, to will like this.

Cover 5/5 Evocative of Michael Woods Zambesi Express the best episode of all the TV programmes since. Can the BBC remaster and rebroadcast please.

I have a copy of the programme somewhere but had to make do with reading Michael Woods description last week. ... going south armaments going north ... one can only do this on SAR ...

Great memories alas steam apart from a few preserved locomotives has nearly gone.

Alexander of the Allrighters and Ywnwab!

A short mixture of journeys and writers make this a good armchair read on a winters evening. Makes one start planning trips to take in the future.
