"She stood on a borderline between heaven and the depths of hell.
She was at an impasse teetering on the unknown.
Her world seemed to slow to an aching pace she couldn't comprehend.
She had never felt so many emotions in one short space of time.
Those emotions could not be categorised or even explained in a tangible way.
If she tried they would not make even one drop of sense to anyone willing to listen. They were equivocal and she was ambivalent.
Wrecked, she felt wrecked.....but she enjoyed that, she embraced it."

Is this the blurb for a new read ? Nope.
Who is "she" ? .......she's ME! ......and I just finished reading Ghost by A. Zaverelli.

Some days the term "gosh darn it" just doesn't cut it but I'll keep it clean.
HOLY BLEEPING HELL!

This book !!!!! This author !!!! My heart !!!!

This book is the third in the series of the Boston Underworld collection and can be read as a stand alone but I strongly recommend reading them in order you won't regret it. I absolutely love the first two books, which I only picked up in the last two weeks (I love it when I find a series that's already established and I can read right through with no waiting on release dates) I never thought the author would top those two reads, until I picked up Ghost and she floored me yet again with her writing talent and wrecked me with emotional instability.

At only chapter 3 I was gripped in a vice I knew wasn't letting go until the final page was turned. I couldn't stop reading, it was an impossible task to let go of my kindle. So at 4.10am and the final page was read through blurry wet eyes I finally let go the emotional build up and I cried, a lot!

I have loved each and every story but this one had a slightly different feel to it from the previous books. Focussing solely on Alexei, a Russian, and Talia, the slave girl that he saves, this book feels more insular in its approach and whilst this is not a negative aspect to the book, it does demonstrate a more segregated feel to the story.

Alexei is a dream of a male protagonist though and when his secret is revealed you warm to him even more. Talia is troubled and has every right to be, her pain is visceral and her actions heartbreaking but with Alexei at her side, she is forced to live, day by day, and towards a possible HEA.

A highly recommended and well-written series for readers who love stories about organised crime and who can stomach their brutal actions.

I always find it difficult to give headings as they are nearly always the same m e.a great read is a great read, there's nothing to add.
I found the storyline gripping, once I started it I couldn't put it down until Finished which meant I was reading all night.
Well actually I had my headphones on and was l listening to it.
The other thing that struck m read although it was a work of fiction parts of it were very harrowing loss in l y more so as it was b being narrated by a woman and the scarier Thing is somewhere in the world this is happening to poor men women and children as I write this . It makes I t much more real.
If you want a comfortable light read this is n o t for you

I don't think the words I often use to review the books I read are really worthy sometimes of how powerful the author has managed to be with their words. This story for me, was devastating, gutting, but yet so unbelievably awesome and joyful towards the end. I honest to God, thought the outcome was going to be different, yet so glad it wasn't. A definite must read. It is a dark read, but so worth the heartache you will feel for his Small Sun.

This series continues to keep me hooked!
This story is about Talia who has been sold and is being used for her body for money... will anyone come to save her or will sje hace to save herself.
Set within the Russian side of the Mafia with some of the Irish Mafia thrown in!
I will continue to read the next book and recommend to others!

okay, so Ghost is the third book in the Boston Underworld series and where the first two were centred around The Syndicate (the Irish Mafia) this book is based on the Vory (the Russian Mafia)

We met Alexei in the previous books and we were introduced to the 'Syndicate' and the 'Vory' being affiliated and working together and this book really brought that affiliation home.

I loved Alexei and Talia. They were both broken and unable to trust people but together they were strong.

Also, having this book from the Russian side made me really want to know Alexei's brothers story so I'm really hoping that's on the agenda for this series.

Really enjoyable read. Highly recommended.
